Characteristics

The golf course is situated in an extraordinarily splendid high valley at an elevation of more than 2,500 ft. At the foot of the Nagelfluh mountain range, nature has set the stage for a unique golfing event, providing for biotopes, rocks, springs, and old trees. The highest greens are at an elevation of more than 3,000 ft and offer a fascinating panorama that causes even the most seasoned golfers to concentrate less on putting and more on the view.

Demanding and sporty

sporty golf

The rather hilly landscape gives the game of golf a rather sporty touch.
The place was in top shape, has only a few sand bunkers (good sand!), but there are mighty trees in the fairway, a few biotopes and water hazards. the greens are usually slightly wavy and easy to play. all in all a successful design that is quite demanding because of the inclined positions.

Well-located driving range right next to the 1st tee.
the 19th hole is not as good as it was a few years ago... therefore only 4.5*

Great first 13 lanes!

We played this course as part of our camper tour in June 23 (our number 6), arrived the night before and spent the evening in the restaurant "s`Hochgradig". A larger birthday party was taking place there, but we still received a warm and exceptionally friendly welcome. In addition to the drinks, there was also very tasty food and a nice chat with Miriam, who has a great gastro team around her. You can tell you're welcome here, it's very cozy!

The next morning we started our round earlier than originally planned (changing the start time wasn't a problem, thanks again) and with the borrowed e-trolley (recommended!) we went on the round. The first lane is still flat away from the clubhouse, but after that it gets hillier and sportier, the fairways hang and you have to think carefully about where to allude to the respective lane. The course always offers magnificent views and tees down, but it's often uphill... Sometimes you have more of the feeling of a mountain hike than that of a golf course, whereby the holes are clearly visible... Hole 9 ends again at the clubhouse and then it continues with the second 9 on the other side of the street. Quite uphill straight away, before a par 3 and a subsequent par 4 leads downhill, each with a really nice view. From lane 13 (again it goes over a street) it gets a little less spectacular - with nice views, but the lanes are weaker in comparison... From lane 16 it continues on the other side of the street, freshly mown hay next to it the fairway likes to swallow one or the other ball (but it's certainly seasonal) and the rough does the rest... .
Lane 18 then leads relatively flat back to the clubhouse.

The place (on foot, of course) demanded a lot from us - not just a number of balls - and the drink after the round was therefore more than deserved. The showers are functional and clean, towels & shower gel are available. After the round and again nice conversations on the club terrace, we moved on.

Regarding the overnight parking ban, it should only be said that 2 campers stood there overnight. The golf club does not understand this measure. This does not come from the club, but from the community.
Incidentally, it was not checked. A sign prohibiting overnight stays is said to be at the bottom of the approach to the Imbergbahn, but we didn't see it. Shortly before the golf course there is also an official parking space - more of a parking lot where one WoMo is next to the other - and that was too "cuddly" for us. The next day we got to know the operator of the parking space as extremely unfriendly, so from our point of view not recommended.

What is absolutely not true for the place & the restaurant, we expressly recommend both!

CONCLUSION: Definitely play a round there and be happy about the extremely nice people in the club and in the gastronomy (at this point a big thank you from us for the nice conversations with Miriam too!!)

Beautiful place in the mountains

Everything has already been described: friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant, good space, great views of a wonderful Allgäu panorama, showers with towels and shower gel, etc. We deduct a star for what we think is too high a price of € 45.00 for one Car.
Note for campers playing golf: Overnight stays are not permitted in the parking lots at the golf club and the Imbergbahn. In front of the entrance to the GC and the parking lots, there are some unrestricted parking spaces on the left-hand side.
