Characteristics
The golf course is situated in an extraordinarily splendid high valley at an elevation of more than 2,500 ft. At the foot of the Nagelfluh mountain range, nature has set the stage for a unique golfing event, providing for biotopes, rocks, springs, and old trees. The highest greens are at an elevation of more than 3,000 ft and offer a fascinating panorama that causes even the most seasoned golfers to concentrate less on putting and more on the view.

Great place in a great location

Cowbells, sheep bleating, and athletically designed fairways all around. We felt very comfortable. The course was in excellent condition, challenging even for HPC 27, but by no means unfair. However, it does require some stamina or a cart.
Please delete the RV parking space from the description, as it doesn't exist. On the contrary: RVs are not permitted from the beginning of the road, as well as in the large, empty parking lots, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Interesting course in a great location

To round off our days in Oberstaufen, we played golf at the Steibis golf course yesterday. I can understand why the course often gets 5 stars, but at the moment I'm leaning towards a good 4 stars.
The course has only been fully open again for two days after the onset of winter in the second half of April. The greens are not yet of the quality that you would expect later in the year. They have also acquired a fungus that has caused some unsightly spots and green 7 needs to be completely re-laid (there is currently a winter green planted here). So it's not quite 5 stars for me, although that could be different at another time and I can see that they are making an effort.
Tees and fairways were very good. The layout is, as is often the case, a matter of taste and here too I don't quite get 5 stars. Somehow they ran out of space towards the end. There would have been enough space for 15-16 holes and so by adding a few more par 3s they somehow managed to get 18 holes. But overall the courses are very varied and often pose a big challenge for an average player. So here too, a very good 4 stars.
Finally, there is the driving range and the practice area. Here, too, they have a bit of a space problem. Here, too, as with the other two points, Riefensberg has a slight edge.
Overall, a very nice course that we would be happy to play again in the future, definitely with the potential for 5 stars.

The rather hilly landscape gives the game of golf a rather sporty touch.
The place was in top shape, has only a few sand bunkers (good sand!), but there are mighty trees in the fairway, a few biotopes and water hazards. the greens are usually slightly wavy and easy to play. all in all a successful design that is quite demanding because of the inclined positions.

the 19th hole is not as good as it was a few years ago... therefore only 4.5*
