Demanding and sporty

sporty golf

The rather hilly landscape gives the game of golf a rather sporty touch.
The place was in top shape, has only a few sand bunkers (good sand!), but there are mighty trees in the fairway, a few biotopes and water hazards. the greens are usually slightly wavy and easy to play. all in all a successful design that is quite demanding because of the inclined positions.

Well-located driving range right next to the 1st tee.
the 19th hole is not as good as it was a few years ago... therefore only 4.5*

Great first 13 lanes!

We played this course as part of our camper tour in June 23 (our number 6), arrived the night before and spent the evening in the restaurant "s`Hochgradig". A larger birthday party was taking place there, but we still received a warm and exceptionally friendly welcome. In addition to the drinks, there was also very tasty food and a nice chat with Miriam, who has a great gastro team around her. You can tell you're welcome here, it's very cozy!

The next morning we started our round earlier than originally planned (changing the start time wasn't a problem, thanks again) and with the borrowed e-trolley (recommended!) we went on the round. The first lane is still flat away from the clubhouse, but after that it gets hillier and sportier, the fairways hang and you have to think carefully about where to allude to the respective lane. The course always offers magnificent views and tees down, but it's often uphill... Sometimes you have more of the feeling of a mountain hike than that of a golf course, whereby the holes are clearly visible... Hole 9 ends again at the clubhouse and then it continues with the second 9 on the other side of the street. Quite uphill straight away, before a par 3 and a subsequent par 4 leads downhill, each with a really nice view. From lane 13 (again it goes over a street) it gets a little less spectacular - with nice views, but the lanes are weaker in comparison... From lane 16 it continues on the other side of the street, freshly mown hay next to it the fairway likes to swallow one or the other ball (but it's certainly seasonal) and the rough does the rest... .
Lane 18 then leads relatively flat back to the clubhouse.

The place (on foot, of course) demanded a lot from us - not just a number of balls - and the drink after the round was therefore more than deserved. The showers are functional and clean, towels & shower gel are available. After the round and again nice conversations on the club terrace, we moved on.

Regarding the overnight parking ban, it should only be said that 2 campers stood there overnight. The golf club does not understand this measure. This does not come from the club, but from the community.
Incidentally, it was not checked. A sign prohibiting overnight stays is said to be at the bottom of the approach to the Imbergbahn, but we didn't see it. Shortly before the golf course there is also an official parking space - more of a parking lot where one WoMo is next to the other - and that was too "cuddly" for us. The next day we got to know the operator of the parking space as extremely unfriendly, so from our point of view not recommended.

What is absolutely not true for the place & the restaurant, we expressly recommend both!

CONCLUSION: Definitely play a round there and be happy about the extremely nice people in the club and in the gastronomy (at this point a big thank you from us for the nice conversations with Miriam too!!)

Beautiful place in the mountains

Everything has already been described: friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant, good space, great views of a wonderful Allgäu panorama, showers with towels and shower gel, etc. We deduct a star for what we think is too high a price of € 45.00 for one Car.
Note for campers playing golf: Overnight stays are not permitted in the parking lots at the golf club and the Imbergbahn. In front of the entrance to the GC and the parking lots, there are some unrestricted parking spaces on the left-hand side.

Great golf course - with an alpine character - recommendation!

Due to the topography, the golf course can almost be described as "alpine". The tracks usually run along the mountain, up and down again and again. This enables some fantastic views down to Oberstaufen. Especially from some greens you can let your gaze wander very nicely into the distance.

The sometimes steep differences in altitude require a certain level of fitness - if you like it more relaxed, it's better to take an e-cart directly.

The tracks are consistently varied and designed differently. In addition, discounts, paths, bridges, streams, etc. are sometimes very appealing.

Pure holiday golf!

In the restaurant you can sit just as nicely on the terrace with a view of the driving range and the surrounding mountain landscape. The dishes offered are very tasty.

Beautiful golf course in the mountains

As part of the Oberstaufen-Plus Golf Card, we were allowed to play this course for free.
The reception in the clubhouse by two very nice ladies when registering was very positive.
The place was very wet due to the constant rain during the night. Understandably, no carts were allowed. The tracks are very demanding. Nonetheless, he was playable. Will definitely play again. There are no 5 points because I found the visit to the gastronomy (coffee and cake) overpriced.

Variety with great views!

The third place in the Allgäu that inspired me!
Anyone who plays golf in the foothills of the Alps should also expect that there are differences in altitude to be mastered. But everything is easy to walk and very varied - flat, wide tracks and also blind holes, water, biotopes, etc.
But you are also rewarded for this - if not during the game, then with some beautiful views, for example to Oberstaufen.
There is plenty of parking space and here too the distances are pleasantly short.
And compliments to the catering team - nice, fast and delicious food!

Great golf club

I played this course 3 times in June, it's always an experience.
The facility is in great condition, the staff at the desk and pro shop are very friendly and helpful.
The subsequent sitting together after the round in the clubhouse, a pleasure with delicious food!
A place to relax and feel good...

Nice place - you should play

I played the course on 09/29/2020. Fairways and greens are in good condition, but for "pedestrians" the climbs on some lanes are very sporty if you don't have electrical support. The holes are fair and nice to play. I was practically alone on the pitch, which resulted in a very comfortable lap and you could also afford to take a break from time to time.
In any case, you should have played the course if you are in the area!

Beautiful golf course

I played the course on a nice Sunday afternoon on vacation:

The course is embedded in the landscape of the "Prealps" and offers a sporting challenge - I would say for golfers of all levels. The tracks are surrounded by meadows and forests, partly also farms and pastures etc. The environment is very beautiful and there are always beautiful views - I liked that.

The course itself is a good overall package. Trees, streams, slopes and also rocks always present golfers with challenges - it never gets boring. In my opinion, this is not a "bomber place" where you could constantly hit the driver blind - which I think is good.

Condition: was very appealing, especially the greens were good to play, on track, good speed

The clubhouse and restaurant are friendly and cozy.

In total I give a recommendation, this golf club is worth a visit.

a happy thing

a challenging place to play, nicely integrated into the pretty hilly landscape. golf is sporty here. the magnificent all-round view of the allgäu region also remains in the best memories.
the place is rather reserved with sand bunkers (a few around the greens rum - good sand!), but there are beautiful trees regularly in the fairway, a few biotope and water hazards. the greens are usually slightly wavy, but play well.
despite late autumn and extremely prolonged drought, we have found the place in really good condition - we did not necessarily expect that.
friendly pro shop, good 19th hole.
certainly again!

Beautiful varied course

We played the course twice in perfect weather. Easy without waiting in 3.40 hours. For the long rain break the place was still in very good condition. The Greenkeepers have watered the dry places properly. The course is very varied and also a sporting challenge. We walked and enjoyed the great panorama and the varied fairways. At the office we were greeted very nicely and felt equally comfortable. We can also highly recommend the gastronomy. Also in the showers everything was very clean and well maintained. We will be back, because we love mountain places!

Strange memberships

A very nice place with friendly staff.
At the beginning of the golf day I had found a plump-filled wallet in front of the secretariat, and of course I handed it over immediately. For the sake of completeness I left my name with a telephone number. I have learned from the staff that it is a member of the club. At least as a golfer with the knowledge of labels and similar sporting behavior I would have at least a call with a small thank you.

Beautiful panorama

After reading all the great reviews, we were looking forward to the pitch. However, expectations were not fully met.
Reception in the office very friendly and attentive, as well in the pro shop. For driving in is a sufficiently large driving range available, but unfortunately only mats. A small putting green, but also enough before the round.

From the square itself, however, we were quite disappointed. The panorama is beautiful, no question, however, I evaluate a golf course not according to the panorama. I have trouble with tracks, where good punches are punished, because the fairway is so uneven or hangs that the ball is impossible. In itself the place is rather short and requires precise beats. Even if one or the other par 4 has a proper length, this is relativized as the course goes downhill.

One can clearly see that the place is maintained as well as the bunker. Nevertheless, some greens and tees show clear bald spots... also at greens / drops, where the sun is coming. This may however also be due to the high temperatures.

The place is good to walk, although one or the other altitude meter is to be mastered. I personally have places where also slanting is required very much like.

After the round we were looking forward to the lovely terrace but were disappointed. When we arrived at 8:10 pm after the lap (and we were by far not the last on the pitch), we got nothing to eat, even though the terrace was still full. We were very sad in the summer and therefore went directly.

Golfreisli

Our annual Golfreisli led us this time to beautiful Oberstaufen. Besides Steibis (2x) we were still playing on 2 other good places where Steibis was challenging and well maintained. The GL, and the staff were very friendly. Accommodating we found the nice gesture after the 18er Round, to be allowed to play an additional 9s for a generous fee, thank you.
We will come back!

Very neat place in magnificent landscape

We have last week the square 2 x played. Even though we have sacrificed a few balls, we can say that it is a great place in excellent maintenance condition. As with all mountain places, it requires a bit condition from golfers.
Very friendly Club Secretariat and the restaurant is recommended in any case very much!

Not for inexact match

10:05:16 played. Walk a challenge but doable. The fairways are partly similar to a better lawn what we did not like. One must then look at the fairway the ball. Nevertheless, one should have played the course once. A strategy game is recommended because the holes are partially short but very hanging. assuming condition for pedestrians, otherwise it is advisable to Cart.

Best Place

For us the highlight of our three-day Allgäu golf tour!

The course took us on Saturday in glorious sunshine lots of fun. Certainly not without when you play it the first time. But the fantastic views and the varied design helped via the "curses" of time.
The fairways were in excellent condition for the season, the greens absolutely great and super fast.

Service also excellent in the restaurant at the secretariat as. For this purpose, a perfect autumn day with sunshine... there was simply nothing to complain about ;-)

In any event, a place that certainly see us again!

Worthwhile Place

We played the course at 16:09:15 and were very pleased. Organization / start time was very fast. A free Birdie Book was presented to us. A few fairways looked optically not so great (a lot of brown spots) and also one or the other Green could be a bit better. The panorama is, however fantastically. We, as a "flat Ländler" could play the course without cart, but you have the one or other train times but durchschnaufen shortly. In addition, the catering industry applies express high praise. Great menu, very reasonable prices, fast service, which was really hard to beat.

Allgäu / Alps - Golf at it's best!

Wonderful panorama, challenging course!
Care condition almost always impeccable.

Those who prefer likes to play flat places with no inclinations must back off a bit and humility true ;-) ... will be rewarded by atmosphere / Panorama / good clubhouse with a nice terrace.

The golf school is recommended. (Steven Rogers, Golf Made Easier)

Conclusion:
Would happily go again and again... one of the most beautiful places in the entire region. All flight partners could I get to know there in my laps were consistently nice / personable... and pleasant without airs Golf partner...

Great panoramic, oblique space

The environment of the place is very nice - always peppered with great views over the green hills. The condition of the fairways and greens were also no reason for whining; all the best. Another thing are the many slopes and very hilly topography. If you like it, here comes at his expense. Those who prefer playing a predictable course, can at least enjoy the panorama. So in between playing once such a place, is quite ok. A second time I go but definitely not too far for a place like this.

A "Must Play" when you're in Oberstaufen

We were there in June 2014 in Oberstaufen and have played a few places in the area, of which we have a few very good and some did not like.
Steibis was then our last place on the plan and we were sorry to have not played it earlier in the week.
He was, despite enormous heat in a really very good condition and the extra green fees (we could see the remaining seats thanks to the Golf Card Play free) worth.
We will come this June again and again certainly play one or more rounds there.
Sporty challenging but feasible for higher HC, without losing the mood, why of course also contributes the mountains.
In addition, a pleasant club restaurant and friendly hosts, as far as the rest of the environment.
We are looking forward to a return visit.

TOP Golf in top location

The golf course is beautiful and offers a great panorama. The courses are constructed challenging and great. Interesting, because I am also skied in the winter Imberg region, was the web 10, which goes uphill chic for me. Great Par 5 and you get everything you wish for. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Steibis I recommend to all, even if the 18 holes are exhausting. For those who do not want to put to the test their physical condition, are sufficient carts available.

Perfect place in the Allgäu

Have played the course in mid-August with perfect weather 2x. Very good maintenance condition of both the fairways and the greens. Challenging with some very long par 5 holes rising that also require sufficient condition. Nevertheless, the place is good to master with an e-Tolley. Very friendly staff both in the office and in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the place was not included in our hotel package, but you can guess why, if you have played the courses contained in it, because this clearly stands out. Very nice panoramic views round off a great golf course. Highly recommended.

Must-Play

We were a few days as a guest in Oberstaufen Steibis (Koenig Ludwig / highly recommended) and were in possession of Oberstaufen card, with which you could play some free courses.
Unfortunately we Steibis (NOT inside the card is in Oberstaufen) reserved for the last day and are therefore only come to the conclusion in the enjoyment of the place.

The condition was very good. The greens could have been a little faster, but they were better than everyone else in the area.
The courses are challenging, but easily affordable for everyone.
Even non-professionals can retain their ball was in play here.
The experienced players should, however, at best, bring on 1-2 tracks the driver into the game, otherwise you will be happy to take a quick minute.
The distance information in the mandatory upon payment of green fees presented Birdiebook (many thanks!) Seem to me in some places not entirely consistent (eg dogleg track 16).
Had I taken the club there, the book would have given the birdie with distance indication to me one way or another slice of a house would probably be broke.

The place is in relation to the other classes better * and * you can enjoy a beautiful panorama.
Despite its location next to the mountain railway to here does not play, such as at a different place in Oberstaufen ski runs up and down (... and whistles on the last hole), but you can easily cope with normal Steibis trolley or carry bag.
In lane 7 behind the green is a small hut with a drinks machine and a great view.
The service team in the clubhouse is very friendly and the terrace to eat and drink with a view on 1st tee, putting green and range.

CONCLUSION:
WE will come back and play the course at the next visit not only 1 time

Super experience

This course is a must play good price performance ratio. The layout is good, the ninth hole ends at the clubhouse. We ate lunch there and then went back problems. The salad was excellent golfer. The greens are too slow for our taste, otherwise I would have given a 5 * rating.
