1-6 & 16-18 are the old holes from 1988. Charm and great fairways that have it all! If this forest area had been possible for 18 holes, it would definitely be a 5-star course!
The well-known designer Rainer Preißmann (who also built the new 27L golf course in Castelfalfi/Tuscany) has immortalized himself on these courses in the best style of the great Betnhard von Limburger!
Holes 7-15 (hole 9 is not at the clubhouse) are in open terrain. Shrubs, ponds and bushes, but lighter - fun to play. The whole course is very well maintained, even the clubhouse has the look and charm of the Limburg era!

Beautiful country golf around Moyland Castle

Played on November 5th, 2020. The flat 18-hole course is located a little southeast of the small town of Kleve in the border region to Holland, in absolute tranquility and nature and can be reached relatively quickly via the A57 (approx. 15 km from the Uedem exit), for example. The place is basically divided into two parts. Lanes 1-6 and 16-18 are probably the older part of the facility and have the character of a parkland with tall trees and tend to run through a forest, while the other lanes are open in a newer part. By the way, you can't see anything of the nearby Moyland Castle itself on the grounds, it is probably just the namesake. The lanes are mostly varied and offer the golfer sufficient challenges such as easy doglegs, well-placed bunkers and one or the other water hazard, which again and again require strategic play. The condition of the fairways was perfect. Lush green carpets with no faults or faults. Some discounts on the older part unfortunately looked extremely bad, although according to a club member they had just been renewed. There was hardly a suitable place to tee off and should at least be blocked at the moment. Some greens had bald spots due to fungus, but were basically still playable and relatively fast. Game operations, due to corona in two-person flights, on a cool but sunny Thursday in November were brisk. All start times were booked out. I started around noon with a very nice club member right behind a tournament. This went very well up to 14. Then, in front of and behind us, various players cut from 10 to 15 and there was a traffic jam with up to three flights. Obviously there were also players from the tournament who, for whatever reason, had started behind us unexpectedly. There was a certain amount of chaos. My teammate was a bit uncomfortable and that should be clarified within the club. If at all, abbreviations should only be allowed if the 14 is completely free. Otherwise, the members were all very nice, greeted them in a friendly manner and the atmosphere is rather relaxed. A special feature of the course is that after 9 lanes you are not back at the clubhouse, but in the middle of the facility. So if you only play 9 holes, you have a slightly longer way back. There is a driving range (balls can be pulled with € coins) and a small practice area directly at the clubhouse. The clubhouse with restaurant (not tested / currently closed) has everything a golfer needs, is modern and functional. The employee in the secretariat was friendly and courteous. Although it was currently suspended due to corona, he still accepted my GolfHoch10 green fee voucher. You can also book tee times as a guest via the external provider CampoGolf. de view, book and pay after registration. The green fee is currently € 55 on weekdays. € 75 on the weekend is then at the upper limit. There is no surcharge for golfers without a hologram in a thankful way that promotes golf. On 28.04.18 we played this beautiful golf course.
The reception was very friendly.
The range and the practice facilities are well maintained.
The experienced members were very friendly and you get as a guest the feeling, to be warmly welcomed.
The course was in immaculate condition for April.
We liked the design well, not very long but sophisticated.
The clubhouse with the terrace is beautiful, side view of the green of the 18, frontal tee of the 1st The food we liked, no star kitchen, but friendly, attentive and the value for money fits.
