Verdura Resort

With the opening of the 45 holes at Verdura Resort, part of the Rocco Forte Hotels, in the southwest of Sicily near the charming small town of Sciacca, a new era for golf began on the island.

Spread over a total of 230 hectares, the resort gently winds through the valley to the private beach on the Mediterranean Sea. The Verdura Resort combines solid, modern, environmentally friendly architecture with luxurious design, mainly influenced by Sicilian culture and the spectacular location on the Mediterranean.

Golf Courses

The Californian architect Kyle Phillips has left his mark on Verdura Resort with two exciting 18-hole championship courses and a 9-hole par-3 course with a landscape-adapted layout.

All golf courses blend perfectly into the surroundings, winding between citrus and olive groves from the foothills of the mountains down to the Mediterranean.

The clubhouse on the hill overlooking the 18th hole is modern and exclusively furnished, housing a changing room, a pizzeria with its own pizza oven, a restaurant, and a bar. Private club services also include shoe shining and bag storage.

Extensive training facilities complement the offerings, with everything available in top quality, from the driving range to chipping and putting greens. The Golf Academy is particularly recommended, offering suitable courses and programs for players of all skill levels.

Verdura Resort Golf Packages

The Rocco Forte Verdura Resort, with its two championship courses of the Verdura Golf Club and its excellent spa, is one of the best and most popular golf resorts in Italy. It is generally open from mid-April to mid-November. Golf packages are available for weekend getaways or longer breaks, such as 7 nights with 4 green fees.

Rooms and Accommodation

All 203 rooms and suites, with terraces and sea views, are equipped with great attention to detail. Furniture and fabrics, along with the lighting, are stylishly coordinated – each room differently but in original Sicilian colours, dark wood, and white curtains. The rooms are spread across two building types, "Courtyard" and "Landscape," which stretch along the golf courses, orange and lemon trees, and olive groves. Two large Ambassador Suites and a luxurious Presidential Suite with three terraces, a pool, and ample living and sleeping space complete the portfolio.

Facilities and Activities

There are four restaurants: "BUONGIORNO" for breakfast, "LA ZAGARA" with à la carte delicacies, "LIOLA’" for pasta and pizza, and "AMARE" on the beach for barbecue and fish. "Private Dining" by candlelight is served in any romantic corner of the resort. Four bars offer different themes, from the "Spa Bar," "Pool Bar," "Granita Bar" to the "Torre Bar" with live music.

A grand 4,000 sqm spa and wellness area opens up with eleven treatment rooms and terraces for outdoor treatments. The focus is on anti-aging, detoxification, rejuvenation, and diet – using ingredients from blood oranges, Trapani salt, volcanic mud, and almonds – all locally produced. A generous pool, sauna, gym, yoga and gymnastics room, as well as a cosmetics department and indoor and outdoor relaxation zones complete the facilities.

If that's not enough, the Verdura Resort also offers a variety of excursions, whether on land or by boat. A trip to Agrigento, 30 km away, is particularly recommended, with its main attraction, the Valley of the Temples, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Sicily.
