The 5-star Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel, is perfectly located right next to the Maspalomas lighthouse. Here you can enjoy the impressive panoramic view of the famous dunes of Maspalomas and the sea right outside the door. The hotel welcomes its guests (adults only) into a stylish, modern interior. Several areas, such as the sun terrace and the main pool were recently renovated. Various room categories are available: from deluxe rooms facing the street, to superior rooms with side or direct sea views, to junior suites, which meet even the highest demands. The spacious swimming pool ensures relaxation. A highlight is the Blue Marlin Ibiza Sky Lounge on the roof of the hotel. Covering an area of more than 1,000 m², there are two small pools with sunbathing areas, DJ areas, a sushi lounge, a cocktail bar and a modern Mediterranean restaurant. From Monday to Friday, hotel guests have free access; on weekends the loungers cost EUR 15 per person (plus minimum consumption).
Further culinary offerings include the Ocean Buffet Restaurant, where breakfast and dinner are offered, the stylish CALLAO Gastro & Ocean Lounge as well as the SURU Cocktail Bar in the lobby and the Erizo Bar by the pool.

Cozy and manageable adult hotel directly on the seafront, very nice golf courses

The adult hotel is not small with 170 rooms, but in contrast to the neighboring hotel complexes with up to 1600 rooms, it is quite family-friendly. The cozy dining room with open terrace, the lobby, the bar areas, everything is manageable. The rooms are big enough, but relatively cramped. If you like the distant and sea views, you should definitely choose the rooms on the seafront, some of the other rooms have no or only very limited side sea views. There are many restaurants in the vicinity for dinner, although these are very "touristy"; we chose full board and would book it again. Fitness fanatics would be a little disappointed by the limited range of equipment and the dark room.
We were there in January 2025, mainly to play golf on the very beautiful courses Meloneras (9 holes between palm trees in the park and 9 holes along the sea, partly challenging over deep gorges) and Anfi Tauro (our favorite course, rocky, "mountainous", spectacular, unfortunately only allowed with a cart 25€ pp).
The hotel shuttle to the courses is free, but only runs a few times a day at fixed times and picks up golfers from several hotels, so we used a taxi (Meloneras 10€, Anfi Tauro 30€).
We booked the private airport transfer through the hotel (155€ there and back); a public taxi would have cost only 20€ less and would not have been as comfortable.
In 2025, there will be major earthworks next to the coastal fairways at the Meloneras course, as a new hotel is unfortunately to be built to the north of the course and the holes along the coast will have to be rebuilt/relocated. As soon as the hotel construction site starts in 2026, it will definitely be "uncomfortable" there.
If we fly to Gran Canaria again, we will probably stay at this hotel again. However, we want to "wait" for the mandatory construction work at Meloneras.

How do I book my trip online?
After you have received an offer, which you like, please click on the orange button "Book now". Then fill out the short questionnaire (regarding information about travellers and tee times) and send the form. After receiving your booking, we will verify the availability of the hotel. Once your stay is confirmed by the hotel (usually within one working day), you will receive our confirmation email together with an invoice for the amount due. The invoice can be paid online by credit card or by standard bank transfer. In case the hotel is not available for the requested booking period, your booking will be cancelled without any charge, and you will be informed immediately.
How can I pay for my trip?
The invoice can be paid online by credit card or by bank transfer. In the our email with your invoice you will find the link to the online payment system as well as the invoice in PDF format with our bank details.
By when do I have to pay for my trip and how much is the deposit?
The deposit is 20 percent and is due immediately. The balance is due four weeks prior departure.
How can I redeem my discount code?
You can enter the discount code from the Albrecht Golf Guide in the booking form. Alternatively, please send us your discount code by email to travel@albrecht.de, after the booking has been confirmed.
Can I cancel or rebook my trip?
Yes, you can cancel at any time. Up to 35 days before departure of your trip cancellation is free of charge for you, unless there are other cancellation conditions listed on your offer and invoice. We have a few hotels that do not offer free cancellation when using an early bird discount. However, more over 90 percent of our partner hotels allow free cancellation up to 35 days before arrival. After that, staggered cancellation fees apply.
