Short space, but one to feel good

First of all: the place is short, really short. Longest lane 280 meters, total par 60. The long game is completely left out, unless you try to attack the greens directly on the par 4 lanes. It is possible, tempting too, but with a high probability it is not conducive to the score.

The only really challenging course is the 3, a longer par 3 through an approx. 15 meter wide aisle with trees on the right and left, in the middle a ditch on a slightly higher green. Attacking or presenting is the tactical consideration and I am sure it is not only high handicappers who choose the defensive variant.
The most interesting hole is the 5, a par 4 ascending first, characterized by a visually brutal marker post that is far left, but then steeply sloping to the right and from about 80 meters in front of the green also sloping down to the green. If you make it past the bell on the fairway with the tee shot to the left, the ball can run to the green. Or somewhere else entirely...

What is always a task, however, are the allusions to the small greens, which are almost always inclined away from the target. You have to play it precisely dosed on the right side, otherwise the ball will roll off the green as quickly as it was on it before. If the balls are hit too long, they tend to wait up to calf-high rough. Putting is also anything but trivial. You almost always have to consider a slope and / or break, the pin positions were - at least on one day - demanding.

With the exception of the very hard bunker sand, the general maintenance condition can be described as absolutely tidy.

But one simply has to state that a golf course was laid out in a place where there is actually not enough space for one. Lanes 8 and 9 seem somehow still wedged in with the crowbar, so that you get 9 holes together. Even the "little highlight that is unrivaled" in the description is actually only an emergency solution, since lanes 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 are several hundred meters apart. Of course it's funny the first time to drive the cart across the country road (!), But it would certainly annoy me regularly. Bag down from the trolley, up on the cart, down, up on the pull trolley, play 3 lanes, back up on the cart, etc...

The scenic location is typical of the Allgäu, beautiful.

Of course, the overall package is golfing benevolent average, so actually 3 stars.
But I like to give 4 stars, because with more than 100 courses played so far it was an absolute highlight in terms of simplicity, hospitality and simply a cool atmosphere in a simple, but very cozy atmosphere. I've never had such nice conversations with completely casual members on and after the round. The finest handcrafted super clubs or the latest Bogner collections are not on display there, but simply played golf and had fun.
And a green fee of 40 euros for 18 holes is always an extremely fair price.

Gem in the Allgäu

Yesterday, 8/14/21 I was there to play a small round.

it started to be fun in the morning when I reserved the start time. I was served a friendly telephone voice that I've already joked with.

When we arrived in the afternoon, we were greeted by this nice gentleman and some members immediately started a conversation with the "strangers". just great!!

now to the place

There are all the ways to practice to get used to it. then comes a curiosity, which is a lot of fun. You can drive to the first 3 holes with carts approved on public roads to play them, then you go back to play the rest. the 9 holes are in excellent condition and it is a pleasure to enjoy the view that is offered.

It should also be mentioned that after the round man / woman in the clubhouse little things are offered for consumption, which are freshly prepared (this is what happens with the pretzels ordered).

Conclusion

A very well-kept, small place that also lives from the friendliness of the staff (I think the owners).
If we are around again, we will definitely continue our game there.

Nice little place

We were there when the conditions were really not ideal. It had rained heavily for a week and accordingly the place was not in top condition. But the reception was very friendly. We were offered to play 9 holes first and if we didn't want to play the second 9, he wouldn't take the full green fee from us in advance. It would be billed after the round. During our round, we worked on the place where we could. All in all, they try very hard to get the best out of it.
Of course, this is not a premium place. While holes 1-5 are varied and interesting, holes 6-9 are a bit sloping. But for a nice little round in between, this is a good option at fair prices.
