Characteristics
Located near Bonifacio, Golf de Sperone is the only 18-hole course in Corsica and is widely considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, the layout is masterfully integrated into the fragrant scrubland (maquis) and along dramatic limestone cliffs. The course is renowned for its stunning seaside stretch, particularly the signature 16th hole which demands a drive over the turquoise sea. The experience is complemented by the U Sperun restaurant, offering breathtaking views towards the Lavezzi Islands and Sardinia.

This is a fantastic golf course with a unique location. Difficult to play, hilly, and challenging, with incredibly beautiful views all around. A cart is recommended, as are plenty of balls. In May 2025, the course was in very good condition; it was a great pleasure to play.

The back 9 in particular are fantastic along the sea. The greens are lush but very slow. The condition is good, the fairways are very green despite the heat in August. The bunkers are not well maintained. The restaurant is only open at lunchtime and the staff are unfriendly. Overall, the quality of the course does not match the green fee price.
