Characteristics

It was our first time there. We didn't have great expectations, but we were thrilled. A slightly hilly course with good, fair golf holes. Very well maintained, with very fast greens. The staff were very friendly. It was fun. We'll be back.

After visiting the very pretty town of Coburg, we drove to the GC Coburg in the evening to spend a quiet night in the camper in the parking lot there. We also had a quick dinner in the restaurant.
The next morning we had a quick practice session on the driving range above the clubhouse, then we played on this very well-kept and varied course. It offers everything that makes a beautiful and interesting golf course - obstacles, water, blind tees, long par 3 holes, small slopes. Overall a very successful layout, the condition was excellent. Here too, the friendliness of the people was remarkable, we let a couple (who played quite quickly) through, and we had a short but very friendly conversation. This is not always a given.
We enjoyed the course, the holes are quite long, so both long and short play is required if you want to achieve a good score.
The city of Coburg is definitely worth a visit and if you want to play on a beautiful course, you've come to the right place!
The club restaurant didn't open its doors until 4 p.m., but we had already moved on before then - the beautiful terrace will have to wait for our next visit. That will definitely come, because Coburg itself also needs to be explored in more detail.

Today we played the GC Coburg golf course. The system was in excellent condition. Fairways and greens were in exceptionally good condition. A really nice golf course. Very nicely integrated into nature, sporty and demanding, but still very fair. The vegetation is very appealing and you get varied and interesting tracks. The reception at the secretariat was very nice and helpful. We had booked a cart, which was in very good condition, absolutely clean and well-kept. The beer on the club terrace after the round also tasted good and the view of the green of the 9th could be enjoyed on this wonderful day.
If you want to play golf in Upper Franconia and are looking for a really great course, you can't avoid GC Coburg.
We will be happy to play the course again at the next opportunity.
