Pleasant surroundings some great holes. Green were poor

Played at the end of a long dry spell so understandable that the course was in a difficult position to maintain consistency on playable areas which were poor when we visited. A number of greens were pockmarked and were not running true.

Was quite difficult as a visitor to know where each hole led, signage on the tees could have been better.

Front 9 was far better than the back.

Lovely surroundings and views across the valley.

Restaurant was closed for a private function when we visited and would not serve food after the round.

Must have

We played the course for the first time. Local knowledge would be helpful as several holes (hilltops, doglegs, etc.) are not visible from the outside. Except for a few holes on the back nine, all holes are interesting and memorable. It's almost always uphill or downhill, sometimes with considerable elevation changes. Not suitable for those with foot problems or similar conditions. Plenty of carts are available. Much about the layout can also be found in previous reviews. Due to the dry conditions, the fairways were naturally a bit hard; it was surprising that we found perfect greens (a bit slow), the likes of which we rarely see. Practice facilities are good, the restaurant had many guests on Sunday who weren't golfers and offers good Franconian cuisine at reasonable prices. Changing rooms and restrooms are clean. The overall package is good. The pro shop is closed Sunday and Monday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. Golfamore members, or even better, Crazy Monday members, only pay their handicap (see green fee/website). Where else can you play 18 holes for €10? All in all, 5 stars. We'll be back on Monday when we're heading north!

Nice place, great views

The course is challenging - it goes uphill and downhill, the fairways are sometimes quite steep, but I had a lot of fun playing the course. The clubhouse is really nice, the operators are really great and very friendly and accommodating. The trip was worth it and I would always recommend the course. One star is deducted for the greens, which were unfortunately a bit of a patchwork and difficult to play on. Otherwise a great course and I would recommend it.
