Località Le Piane, I-58019 Porto Ercole, Italy

Characteristics

Venue of the 2025 Italian Open (DP World Tour).

The Argentario Golf Club features 18 panoramic holes for a total of 6,295 metres and par 71. The course has been awarded the “Agri Cert” certification for its bio eco-compatibility, and all products used for its maintenance are completely natural.

In 2019, Argentario Golf Club became the PGA National Golf Course Italy, and is the only PGA licensed golf facility in Italy.

The golf course is located in a protected natural area, only 5 minutes from the Duna Feniglia Nature Reserve and 25 km from the Parco dell’Uccellina Reserve. The Orbetello Lagoon, the sea and the hillside offer a beautiful panorama and create a microclimate that allows golf to be played at any time of the year.

The Argentario Golf Academy, awarded with the title of “PGA National Academy Italy”, features the TrackMan IIIe simulator, a last-generation platform for analyzing your swing, whether you are a pro or an amateur.

The 18-hole golf course and the driving range, which were inaugurated in 2006, have been designed by the architect David Mezzacane and the professional golfer Baldovino Dassù. The holes were subsequently shaped by Brian Jorgensen: the result is a varied, spectacular and technically challenging course.

Among the 18 panoramic holes with mostly small greens, two dominate the sea and the lagoon, one is immersed in the Mediterranean vegetation, and another features water hazard running along one side of the green. A refreshing breeze mitigates the temperature and adds an extra challenge to the game which, on this course, requires a combination of accuracy and power.

Revitalizing drinks and healthy dishes that are both simple yet creative, await you in the Club House, which recalls the tradition of historic Anglo-Saxon golf clubs with contemporary details. The restaurant and bar of the Club House overlook the large terrace where you can admire the beautiful landscape: the golf course, the Mediterranean vegetation, Orbetello Lagoon and the Gulf of Talamone.

  • At the gourmet Dama Dama Restaurant, Chef Emiliano Lombardelli proposes a cuisine based on the flavors and the colors of the local territory. Dishes are prepared using genuine products that come from small, carefully selected local farms and, in some periods of the year, these ingredients come directly from our vegetable garden and orchard.

Disaster!!!

During the 1. May holidays, in fantastic weather, we played a round of golf at a PGA course that charges €150 for a green fee. To our great disappointment, the course was completely neglected—semi-roughs were in terrible condition, the fairways hadn't been mowed, and the toilets hadn't been cleaned in at least a month or two. When we complained at the reception after the game, they told us to come back in July, when "everything will be great."
In short, none of our group is likely to ever return. The course is a disgrace to carry the PGA name!

Perfekt golf on half island...

Wert nice golf course, fairways and greens in good condition. Green's a little bit to slow, bunkers need some sand... Club house and hotel excellent, nice positioned.
One of best courses in Italy.

Acceptable, but rather too expensive.

The pitch is in great shape from A to Z, the only problem is the neglected sand bunkers. One centimeter of sand, concrete underneath. That's unacceptable.
The layout is quite entertaining. The course is undulating, and obstacles occasionally get in the way. Holes 10 to 12 are hilly highlights, after which it flattens out again, literally.
A little precision helps, because the semi-rough surface is thick and very *sticky*.
There are no distance markings and the track descriptions are often barely legible because they have been burned out by the sun.
All in all, you get acceptable quality, albeit for a rather hefty price (160€, weekdays, on foot).

The 19th hole is cozy, the service is passable, and the food is good, but there's room for improvement. Unfortunately, a missed opportunity.
