Horrible waiting time

I have played the Abama course 4 times and each time more than 5 hours because they let so many beginners with hotel vouchers/ guest rates play.
And with these high greens fees waiting on each tee box forever. Never again…….

Beautiful golf day

Played in perfect weather, with only two other flights on the course at midday at 27°C.
Very well-maintained course, tee boxes, fairways and greens (slightly sanded, hence the special price) as well as top bunkers.
Friendly welcome in the pro shop.
Very nice views of the Atlantic and La Gomera.
Buggy and driving range with 30 balls included.
The place is definitely not suitable for beginners.
Holes 8 and 9 (steep downhill) in particular are difficult and a challenge even for a player with a single hand and no knowledge of the course.
Small beer and a coffee after the round 9€.
Conclusion: I'd gladly play again at the special price. A beautiful, well-maintained and challenging course with fantastic views. Unfortunately, the regular green fees are significantly overpriced.

ABAMA - much of its former glory has been lost...

Unfortunately, the course has deteriorated considerably over the first nine holes. The numerous construction sites and the associated construction noise, as well as the sometimes very close development directly along the fairways, have significantly diminished the original spaciousness and appearance of the course. In particular, the shortening of holes 6 and 8, prompted by local residents, has completely destroyed the character of both holes.

The second 9 holes have remained unchanged, are still absolutely worthwhile both visually and in terms of play, and compensate for the limited enjoyment of the game before.

As with most "vacation courses," all players are allowed onto the course regardless of skill level, as long as the green fee has been paid. This often leads to extremely slow play, which is hardly surprising given the numerous challenging holes. Instead of setting a handicap limit – and not adhering to it – marshals should ensure a fast-paced game (playing times of well over four hours for two players, and sometimes with three or four flights on one hole, are unacceptable).

The condition and quality of the course was consistently excellent and there was absolutely nothing to complain about.

You should definitely try the Abama Golf Course sometime, but the current green fee, combined with the shortcomings mentioned above, is completely overpriced. For that price, the "total package" has to be right!
