Terras de São José Golfe Clube

Alameda São Francisco Golfe, s/n - Terras de São José, 13306-443 Itu, Brazil

Characteristics

One of the first golf courses in Brazil to be constructed within a condominium, Terras de São José has also pioneered the concept of semi-public course in Brazil, since it is open to all golfers . Part of the course was designed by Ricardo Rossi, one of the greatest Brazilian golfers – his family manages the course nowadays.

Terras de São José has generous and wide fairways, surrounded by trees, a lot of native vegetation and some houses. Recently, it was amply remodeled. The course was significantly improved and gained brand new changing rooms. The course is often requested for business events and frequently visited by players of the capital city, since it is located only about an hour from São Paulo city centre.

Very good option near São Paulo

I've played here several times. It's a very nice course, very well kept, challenging, though not to the point of being inconvenient.

I've played other courses near São Paulo and this is not the most visually appealing of them (not a lot of water), though it's certainly nice.

The driving range is well kept, and you hit off the grass, not mats, which is a definite plus.

The terrain gets a big uneven at times, so you better be in good shape if you're going to walk it, or you'll be tired by the end of 18.

The staff is very friendly, as are other people playing the course.

Truly a great place to play golf

I've had the privilege to play here 3 times, each time a great experience. The course is beautifully kept, the people are genuinely warm and friendly, the caddies are superb. Something that I particularly found satisfying was the fact the caddies do speak some English, as well as a couple of the guys in the pro shop. As for the food, what I had was delicious, again, the people there were courteous and friendly and helpful.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone, no matter what the handicap may be.
Any more information needed, please don't hesitate to contact me at: bigboy333@hotmail. com Look forward to a round with anyone that wants to play.

My weekend home

I started to play golf there about 20 years ago. The course is excellent. They have also a very good restaurant. The overall service was excellent. We played mostly on weekends, on saturday and sunday. The night between we were in a very small and cheap hotel in Itu, very near the Terras de Jao Jose. The town of Itu is fantastic.
Five years ago I visited the club last time. The course was as good as it was before. But the open air bar just besides the number one tee had been destroyed. In old times it was a fun to see golfers hitting their first drive when they knew that twenty people were looking!
