The San Domenico Golf Club is situated directly at the racky cliff, there are olive groves and agricultural grounds in the north. The demanding 18-hole-course offers exceptional views on the sea from every tee, green or fairway. Besides the strategically placed buinkers, the difficult fairways and the large greens particularly the wind plays an important role.

Excellent links-like golf in Mediterranean scenery

To play San Domenico means experiencing challenging links-like golf without the cold weather challenge. The course is demanding but at the same time enjoyable. The setting is simply to die for. San Domenico runs past the coast and you can see the beautiful, dark blue Adriatic sea from every hole. Add more then 2000 years old olive trees to the scenery, local flora occupying the site and rays of sun on your back and you will just fall in love with it!

OK for every golfer

San Domenico offers a playable course directly on the Adriatic coast for every golfer who is on holiday in Apulia.
For the hot August that was behind the facility, the fairways were in good condition. The greens had suffered more and were being worked on and sanded during our stay. The friendly management has met us with a 30% green fee waiver. The layout of the square is okay and easy to walk on.
Driving range and putting zone is ok, unfortunately you can only tee off from mats.
Suma sumarum, the offer was ok, but I have to say clearly that the normal green fees of € 130 - 150 / person are exorbitantly high for southern Italy, which will probably make the guests of Borgo Egnazia and San Domonico stand out!
The staff in general was very friendly.

Simple place in beautiful landscape

We played the course twice in the middle of April. Except for the greens, the place was in a deplorable state. The fairways were brown instead of green and in many places hardly a blade of grass could be seen. Extremely uncomfortable was that the place was completely sprayed with weedkiller. Shoes, rackets, balls, everything glued!!!
The place is very nice on the sea between old olive trees but unfortunately there are some unkempt corners with debris and rubbish. The course is not too difficult to play and there are hardly any major challenges.
Very nice is the clubhouse, but the prices are quite upscale (€ 6.- for a glass of average white wine).
Highly recommended is the golf course Hotel Masseria Cimino.
