The 18-hole Par 72 course is defined by the typical Frisian landscape, featuring abundant water hazards that require strategic course management rather than sheer power. The fairly flat place is surrounded by pure nature.
Streams, reeds, small lakes and forests characterise the surroundings and make the fairways narrow from time to time. The bunker sand is perfect, but the bunkers themselves are unfortunately too shallow and too harmless. Fairways good.
The greens are beautifully undulating... but they are not greens!!! It is more like a closely cut lawn. The balls travel accordingly slowly and there is a lot of bouncing. Proper putting is a thing of the past. With a green fee of €65, such "greens" are not acceptable.
The 19th hole was surprisingly good, the catering options were well above the Dutch average.
Ultimately, it is the 19th that brings the place just over the 2-star limit.
