Largest golf facility with 36 solid holes in Hua Hin

Played C+D on March 10th/A+B on March 20th, 2024. The 36-hole course is embedded in a hotel resort north of Hua Hin, directly on Highway 37. Since it's about 2 km through the resort from the highway to the hotel/clubhouse, you won't notice any traffic on the lap. The resort is sparsely developed, so you can hardly see any buildings. The clubhouse is not the newest, and the small pro shop where you pay your green and caddy fees is located in the lower part of the building. Opposite are the locker rooms, which are good but cannot necessarily be described as luxurious. Everything seems a little undersized for a 36-hole system. There was only one employee in the pro shop who greeted us in a friendly and busy manner. During our rounds there was relatively little activity on the course, so the two of us were able to start earlier and almost play through. A slow flight allowed us to play through with a break at a halfway house. The caddies who accompanied us were very good and nice. You read the lines on the greens perfectly. They quickly picked up every tee and got us the balls out of the holes and water hazards even though we didn't really want to. The four 9 hole loops are all flat and a cart is not essential. Because of the heat we still rented some for 750 Bath each. The carts aren't the most modern, but there were two small bottles of water per player for free. Unfortunately there is no homepage for the course/club. The URL here at 1Golf. de is stated leads nowhere. The hotel only has a homepage, but there is no information about the courses and certainly not about the green fee prices. Since we booked a golf package in advance of our trip, we assume that the standard green fee is 2,800 Bath, as stated here at 1Golf. We didn't see a price list at the pro shop. The restaurant in front of the pro shop, below the hotel and pool area, offers a wide selection of food at affordable prices. What we ate after the round was absolutely fine, even if the young waitress had a bit of a hard time taking our order and we always had to point to the pictures or texts on the menu. We ultimately had to order the rice we ordered. But now to the courses: The Dessert and the Links Course (C+D) are very similar. There are many bunkers and some water hazards that come into play and come into play strategically, especially in windy conditions. There is also a 90 degree dogleg (the 15 of the link). The Lake Course (B), as the name suggests, has a lot of water. Here, hole 14 (PAR 3) with an island tee is certainly an eye-catcher. The fairways are usually very wide. A few trees here and there, otherwise pretty easy to play. The bunkers are the challenge. Unfortunately there are also a few stones in some of them. The greens were mostly dry, hard and therefore very fast and often undulating. A few greens were obviously watered more and the grass was a little higher and the putts were a little slower. By the way, the Links Course has absolutely nothing to do with a links, it probably just needed a name for this loop. During our first lap we saw a lot of smoke behind the course, apparently from a fire on the mountain behind the course. Since all the employees kept calm, we also stayed calm, even though the smoke was very close to the clubhouse when we left the facility. Overall, a good facility that seems to be less busy than most other places around Hua Hin.

Advisable

We played A (Mountain) and B (Lake) on January 31,2024. The course was in very good condition, the greens were very stable and had no defects.
The two courses are wonderfully embedded in the landscape, with the Lake course living up to its name: lots of water!
But never unfair, i.e. always enough landing zones with a fairly straight game.
Regarding the caddies: unfortunately in Thailand it is always a cause for discussion. Unfortunately, very few people have golfing experience and can still show the lines on the greens to some extent. Therefore: Just don't set your expectations too high.

Everything OK

12/11/2022 Beautifully situated between the mountains; course maintenance mediocre;
Not very difficult to play;
The obligatory caddies (ladies) transport the luggage and clean the balls. they got 400 baht per caddy from us.
Several drinking stations and toilets on the loop; at 30 degrees very pleasant 😀
