Rather not

For the first time in my golf life I didn't finish a paid for round!
Holes to Southwest of clubhouse are okay, but all holes to Northeast are no fun, badly maintained, no grass on greens, huge weeds on fairways, everything work in progress. Course should be a 9 hole, awaiting improvement on remaining holes. Extremely long walks between some holes. Course layout bizarre.

Beautiful spot for a round of golf on holiday - unfortunately poor green quality

I was aware that the course wouldn't be in a comparable condition to ours – the weather and vegetation on the island are too harsh and dry. There was a change of ownership in March; the new operator is the rather modern golf hotel right next to the course. Things didn't seem to go smoothly there, as evidenced by the active website, but every inquiry goes unanswered – the handover process wasn't entirely fair or above board.
The staff on site are incredibly friendly and helpful; Thomas explained the course to us and pointed out tricky sections (like the uphill 2nd hole over the ditch). The carts are new and highly recommended, as the course is quite hilly. I found the tees and fairways to be okay; the course is definitely not easy to play. However, the course was well maintained and mowed during my stay.
The only real downside is the greens; they are mostly dried out and brown. I think the greenkeepers simply need time and a bit more rain to improve their condition.
It was perfect for me to play golf on holiday in great weather; the prices were fair and reasonable. I'd love to come back!

Almost fell for it

After the club was unavailable for days and didn't respond to an email, we wanted to book a tee time on-site. On the drive to the office, however, we saw the condition of the course. Deplorable best describes it. The greens were largely devoid of grass. The fairways weren't worthy of a fairway. There were hardly any golfers playing. In any case, we decided against it.
