The hotel is a boutique hotel; you have to like that sort of thing—I prefer classic style, but my wife liked it.
Upon entering the apartment, you enter a hallway that leads directly past the open-plan bedroom, then past the bathroom and into the living room. There's a second large TV in the bedroom, and a lovely terrace with a sea view if you stop to look. Many hotel guests walk past our apartment's terrace on their way to breakfast or dinner. The swimming pool is very small, only about 1.30 meters deep, and not really suitable for swimming – but there's a second pool with three loungers that are flooded like a whirlpool – perfect for relaxation. There's a bistro by the pool serving drinks and snacks. Otherwise, there are plenty of large, comfortable loungers around the pool. Incidentally, everything is wheelchair accessible (where there's no level access, there are ramps for wheelchairs or small lifts/chairlifts). There are several nice restaurants nearby (Spanish cuisine( Antonio), Tex-Mex (El Burro), Italian (No Stress – reservations recommended as it's small and fills up quickly), and a fish restaurant at the harbor (La Cofradia)). The golf courses are so-so; lots of cinders and stones on the fairways, and the strong winds don't exactly make playing easy. But there are often nice views of the sea or the volcanic surroundings.

The hotel and especially the hotel staff are top-notch.
The golf course lacks shade on the driving range, and the terrace offers no real UV protection because the umbrellas are woven and allow sunlight to pass through. Many people suffer from skin cancer, and the number is increasing every year. On a course that offers no trees or similar natural shade, it is not customer-friendly to forgo shade, for example, on the driving range.
The court is frequently played by older people who also suffer from circulatory problems; shade is important for them as well.
If the course is fully booked, revenue can only be generated from the hourly green fee of €3000. With opening hours of 10 hours per day, the financial aspect of the course should be negligible.
The ground on the course is lava rock. It would be sensible and a good service to offer guests the option of booking tee covers to protect their clubs. That would have been very helpful for my clubs.
Otherwise, a very well-maintained course, good to play on.

The rooms don't meet the standards of a five-star hotel; we had an Excellence Suite, with very modest and outdated furnishings. The hotel complex is OK, but the pool area is too small for a hotel of this size. The breakfast buffet and selection are good, the half-board dinner is OK, but nothing more. The golf courses are in rather poor condition; Lanzarote is certainly not a golf destination, compared to Gran Canaria or Tenerife, which are considerably more modest.
