Characteristics
Located just south of the charming town of Gränna, Gränna Golfklubb offers a distinctive golfing experience set against the backdrop of the historic Västanå Castle. Designed by Peter Nordwall, this 18-hole forest course is renowned for its harmonious integration into the natural landscape. Unlike tight woodland layouts, it features generous, wide fairways and large, undulating greens that demand strategic putting. The club actively promotes a "wilder" golf concept, managing the rough to support biodiversity. Memorable holes include the fourth, featuring a unique terrain formation known as the "salmon ladder," and the dramatic eighteenth with its water hazards. A modern clubhouse, rebuilt in 2003, houses a popular restaurant serving local cuisine.

I can only agree with the previous assessment. However, the place of white or blue is no longer easy. The landing zones then become small and the four, for example, requires a carry of 200m, even with a headwind. Before there is only rough. But overall a very sporting experience. Even the very fast greens were not easy to putt because they were mostly undulating.
The lunch menu in the restaurant is highly recommended.

The built in 1989/91 18-hole course is a real gem! The area near the motorway (E4) is hilly, the tracks are very varied and are primarily distinguished by the well thought out design, so that does not unduly severe course (5548m of yellow) keeps many interesting challenges ready and never get bored leaves. Signature holes are the 4, a broad but left hanging par 5, and 11, also a par 5, but with an indescribable, 70-meter-long "nose" of the green.
The place is probably one of the best in the region, the price-performance ratio is excellent, the staff friendly, the well-appointed clubhouse. The short drive from the highway is a bit twisty, but it is worthwhile in any case.
