Played on September 2nd, 2023 MV course (par 72), September 3rd, 2023 Inselcourse (par 71). The golf park with 36 flat holes and an attached golf hotel is located not far from the island of Rügen near the A20 in the middle of nowhere in Mecklenburg. It's still 30km to Stralsund. The hotel offers golf packages with overnight stays including green fees. It's also worth simply asking for an offer. I paid €249 for an overnight stay from Saturday to Sunday including breakfast, access to the spa/indoor pool and two days of unlimited golf. The normal green fee alone would have cost me €170 at the weekend, although €85 per round is definitely a sporting price for the region. Incidentally, the game operations were very manageable on both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, despite the club championship being held at the same time. Tee times can be booked online via the homepage. All the employees were very friendly and service-oriented. But now to the seats. The MV course offers some challenges and has a correspondingly high requirement. High HCs should have a few more balls in their bag. There are some water hazards, high rough and well-placed bunkers. Trees in front of the tee or narrow landing zones are also welcome. You should play more strategically. Lane 1 is the hardest lane by default. Green 18 ends with an island green. The condition of care was mostly good. One or two tees a little worn. Robotic lawn mowers perform their duties reliably on the good fairways. There was some unrest due to loud gunfire noises from a nearby shooting range and on lanes 14 to 16 from the nearby federal highway. In principle, the MV course is a pleasant course with challenges that I can recommend. On the front nine, except for lanes 4 and 5, the island course is more like an overgrown parkland course with rather short lanes and prominent water hazards. The back nine is more open and the lanes are longer. Basically, the island course is also varied, slightly easier in terms of difficulty. Here, too, the condition was mostly good, especially the greens on both courses were faithful and fast. By the way, the island course is not called that because there are many island greens there, but because one of the Baltic Sea islands is described on the tee boards on each hole. On the MV-Platz, 18 natural refuges of the Baltic Sea region around the square are described on the tee boards. However, the tee boards themselves are a bit old. Incidentally, on the weekend afternoons, 27 holes of footgolf are played on the back nine of the Inselcourse. The corresponding areas disturb little during the round. What I particularly liked about both courses was that the paths from the green to the next tee and from the tee to the fairway were mowed. This keeps your feet dry even in wet weather. It is somewhat confusing that the respective front nine and back nine on both seats are also designated with letters from A to D. There you are, for example, on tee 1 of the MV place and it is labeled 1A. One wonders whether there is still an alternative 1B that does not exist. Of course there is also a driving range and a sufficiently large practice area. The service in the Fretwurst restaurant was very friendly and quick. Mid range prices and ok food. The hotel room was quiet and clean. I really enjoyed the two days and give Strelasund a clear recommendation.
