Characteristics
The golf course is situated in the heart of the island of Rügen. Everyone can learn how to play golf here without having to become a member. Since some of the courses are open to the public, the club offers a harmonic blend of club life and public operation.
The centrepiece of the club is an 18-hole tournament course with narrow fairways, an impenetrable rough, and a population of huge, old trees. The Ostseegolfclub Warnemünde e.V. is entitled to practice on this course.

Is this a golf course

I have been playing golf for over 40 years never have i ever experienced such a disastrous course. I cannot believe that they had they audacity to even charge us to use the facility. The first 9 holes are non existence. The fairways are like ploughed fields, the greens are so unkept i felt like i was playing in the african bush. The positive thing was that at least you could get a hot meal that was above par.

In our memory, this place is called "The Field", which is not correct, because "The Meadow" is more accurate and suits the surroundings.
The course is interestingly laid out and full of challenging obstacles.
We were surprised to see that the flags appeared to be stuck in the bunkers. Only upon closer inspection did we realize that the brown areas were the greens. All the greens were completely scorched. Nevertheless, putting was perfectly possible.
Since the weather was nice and we had a long journey from the hotel to the course, we finished the round.
The staff at the golf course reception were very friendly and accommodating. However, we probably won't be coming back to Rügen to play golf, as the other golf course there is also in an unacceptable state of repair.
