Great place, gastro so-so

The place is really fun. Even if you only find a level stand at the tees, this is what makes it so much fun here. Well-groomed fairways and fast greens contribute to the fun, as does the varied topology and the interesting holes. Gladly again.

Unfortunately, there is a star deduction for the gastro because you prefer to stand at the counter or play on your cell phone than to serve the guests.

Nice places but difficult

We played here on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Both courses are in good condition.
The Stromaste disturbed us but are also a challenge.

The terrain is difficult but is also clear at this location.
If you have foot problems, you should rent an e-cart.
Friendly staff. The hotel and restaurant also convinced us.
Price performance is right here. Always happy.

7x PAR 5 in the Bergisches Land

Played on October 15th, 2020. The 36-hole course Felderbach / Frielinghausen with an attached hotel is conveniently located in the Bergisches Land (partly beautiful view of the country from elevated points) near the A1 / A46 between Wuppertal and Hagen. Despite the proximity to the motorway, the entire facility is in absolute tranquility and nature. After I last played the “Frielinghausen” course in 2013 (see separate evaluation), I currently played the “Felderbach” course. The course of the track in the hilly terrain (cart recommended for not so sporty / also because of the sometimes longer ways to the tees, e.g. from the 2 to the 3) is varied and it is not boring. There are a lot of ingrown trees, bushes, including exclusion or water / penalty areas, doglegs, well-placed bunkers and now and then inclines and blind strokes due to the terrain. Overall, the space at PAR has 74.7x PAR5 (lanes 3-5 directly behind each other). The comparatively low specification for typography is surprising. Unfortunately, there are only yellow and red tees, so the red tees are recommended for higher HCs and a sufficient supply of balls. The signal hole on the round should be the 16 (PAR 3) with an increased tee, where the decision is pending or attack the green behind the water a little to the right. The unsightly power lines are a bit of a shame, especially on the first 9 lanes. The condition was basically okay. The place was generally very damp due to the wetness of the last few days. Here and there the fairways looked a bit unkempt / uncut, and the mole sometimes struck. The tees looked worn out here and there, so that you sometimes had to look for suitable places for the tee. The greens were in good shape, loyal and fast. The game on a rather cloudy Thursday afternoon was manageable. It seems that the “Frielinghausen” square is more popular with members, possibly also because the distances are shorter. Anyway, I had booked a start time on the homepage the evening before, apparently as the first player behind a senior tournament. I was able to play through relaxed until 14, until I probably ran into the last four-man flight of the tournament. For the last four holes I then needed over an hour. I could see that the lane in front of the flight was completely empty! I paid the comparatively moderate green fee of € 55 on weekdays to the friendly employee in the secretariat. You get a personalized score card and the information where the first tee is, which is also necessary because I did not see any signage. There are sanitary facilities in the neighboring hotel / restaurant. A separate pro shop is available. For a 36-hole course there is a relatively manageable driving range with tee mats and safety nets on the access road. Balls can be drawn from the machine using € 2 coins. Basically, I can recommend the round if you don't expect a flat meadow and like the challenge of 7x PAR5.
