We received an extremely friendly and warm welcome at the Oberpfälzer Wald Golf Club – you immediately feel welcome.
Regarding the square itself:
The tees and greens are in excellent condition. As a true natural course, it was quite dry in places during our visit, giving the balls a good roll. The layout is fair: you can practically always see the flags directly from the tee box, which makes orientation easy. However, the course is unforgiving – bad shots very often result in lost balls. My tip: definitely pack plenty of balls!
One should also be prepared for the fact that this is a true mountain course with some significant elevation changes. Walking here is quite strenuous and will take its toll on your legs. However, I was pleasantly surprised that, despite the sloping terrain, you often have a surprisingly solid footing while hitting the ball and are hardly hindered.
Conclusion: A scenic but challenging course. Those who are fit and play accurately will have a lot of fun here!

Anyone who wants to play golf should definitely play this course. Anything but boring, it's absolutely challenging, especially if you're on foot. You should also play with common sense and a plan, otherwise you'll have to look for the odd ball when it's dropped on slopes, inclines and woods. But there are also courses that offer relaxation on wider fairways with fairly flat surfaces. The condition is very good, the greens are really great and fast, but the bunkers are a bit of a disaster. They definitely need some sand again, because at the moment they're just concrete and not really playable.

- You basically only stand straight on the tees and greens, otherwise only on slopes or slopes
- Hard to manage without an e-cart
