The landscape of the Golf Club Stromberg-Schindeldorf is truly breathtaking: The course is situated on a plateau and provides a view of the valleys reaching as far as Bad Kreuznach in good weather. The course calls for a very testing and precise game since many fairways were cut into the forest and are thus very narrow. All in all, the course has an undulating character with numerous uphill and downhill slopes.

The hotel has been completely renovated inside to a top 4 star plus level!!!
The place, well! The wooded and hilly area around the 60/70 year luxury hotel is quite impressive. There is still a lot of development with beautiful single-family houses with a view of the front tracks and the 20km “Weitblick Valley”!
The bunkers and greens are well maintained and beautifully laid out, but:
Why don't you turn this 18-hole course into a decent 12-hole course? The effort wouldn't be too great and you could build nice fairways with a normal width. Some fairways are so narrow that you have real difficulties with orientation when you first use them!
Lanes 3-10 are so tightly packed together that I have rarely seen before!
For me the most beautiful holes were 1,2, 10,11,13,14,16,17,18!
With a reduction to, for example, 12 holes, you could create a normal par 72 standard without littering it with far too many short and equally narrow par 3s!
If you can find your way to the Stromberg Hotelplatz on the sometimes narrow streets, it's still worth a walk!
Tip: Without a car you should be able to walk normally to well, the climbs are sometimes considerable!

First time playing on a golf course with many challenges despite not being so long. Booking the start time by phone was easy, very friendly reception at the green fee with a recommendation for a cart to navigate the paths and height differences between the holes. Unfortunately, driving with a driver is not possible on the driving range. There are plenty of practice opportunities on the narrow fairways with old trees. With the undergrowth removed, the warped balls could be found. As a consolation, there are fantastic views of the Hunsrück. Hanging fairways and undulating greens with complicated putting lines were not easy. Bunkers, water and doglegs round off the difficulties. The 17 is very nice with a short tee shot into the depths.
With sunshine and the lush green of the course in good condition, a golf experience with potential to be repeated. The changing rooms in the spa area and the end of the game on the terrace of the golf hotel with delicious cakes contribute to the pleasant atmosphere.
