Characteristics
This 18-hole course is situated southeast of Dortmund on the Haarstrang ridge overlooking the valley of the Ruhr within easy reach from the main traffic roads. The holes of the course are mainly level, the fairways narrowed through the surrounding forest and a few sand traps, and the greens protected by several ponds, providing for a testing and interesting game but also treating players with a higher handicap fairly.

The course is good to play on. The fairways are okay. I also thought the greens were good. The bunkers desperately need repairs. They're full of water.

The facility of the GC Neuenhof including the hotel and restaurant is highly recommended. From the friendliness of the staff to the excellent service in the hotel, restaurant and club secretariat, everything is great. The Gut Neuenhof Golf Club is a beautiful parkland or forest course that blends very harmoniously into the hilly landscape. It is very varied and requires a large number of stroke variations, as the bunkers and water hazards and especially the partially hanging fairways always require a good strategy. Nevertheless, the course is very fair to play, as you can usually find badly hit balls again. There are some very nice holes, especially the 17 with the stroke is spectacular. Unfortunately, at the time of play, the fairways were very dry and the greens were sanded and aerated, which diminished the joy of playing. The greens have some undulations, which in normal conditions would certainly have made the putting more varied.
The gastronomy was excellent, very friendly and the price-performance ratio was very good. For a leading course I would have expected more from the maintenance condition, but for € 50 green fee it is a course that you should play when you are nearby.
