Characteristics
This golf club is situated, embedded between forests and fields, on a terminal moraine of the last ice age. The fairways follow the features of the landscape. The idyllic quietude of the surrounding region as well as the magnificent panoramic views over the fields of the so-called "Knicklandschaft" (a landscape with low earth walls, planted with bushes and trees, which is typical of Schleswig-Holstein) soothe the soul. Sportively seen, however, the quietude is not to be underestimated. Roughs, bunkers, water hazards and well-guarded greens demand precision.

The GC Großensee has come a long way in recent years. The condition is very good, not least thanks to the robotic lawnmowers, the greens are fast and true to the line - if you read the line correctly during the breaks. The course is varied and offers many challenges with its doglegs and height differences. The rough is a feast for the eyes in summer and should encourage a more cautious game. The practice areas invite you to practice or prepare for the round. The public par 3 "short course" as a 9-hole course is an excellent addition for beginners or for training on the 18-hole course with hole 13 from white as the signature hole. The catering is open 7 days a week, so that thirst and hunger can be quenched after the round with everything from drinks to food. The changing special menu offers seasonal dishes and specialties.
