Characteristics

Founded in 1964 the Golfclub Hamburg-Ahrensburg is one of the best known and most traditional golfclubs in the Hamburg region. Located slightly north of Hamburg it is just a short 25 km from the very center of Hamburg. The golf course boasts an impressive parkland atmosphere within the wonderful landscape of Schleswig Holstein.

Recreational golfers as well as top players will find an ambitious but always playable challenge at the golf course next to Bredenbeker Lake. Alongside the sport you will enjoy the beautiful nature and wonderful views during your time on the course.

The driving range and putting green are located right next to the club house. An additional area with three pitching and chipping greens combined with various practice bunkers is well placed on the course, just a couple of minutes to walk from the parking lot and clubhouse. Golfclub Hamburg-Ahrensburg is home to the Hamburger Golfakademie where you may book a training session with any of our three excellent golf pros who are equipped with excellent teaching facilities and professional technology such as Trackman.

Nice, but too expensive

Have played again after the conversion in Ahrensburg. This place was nice before, after the conversion, well, a bit lighter, less firs, more water, very slow greens, but why you have to pay € 90,00 for a normal round, I have a mystery!
Dear Ahrensburger, This is unfortunately not worth your place, Sorry.

Nice parkland course with weaknesses

After the conversion quite well, more can not be got out of such a small area. The driving range at the 18 is uncomfortable, also the various Zeune - which are necessary for safety reasons. The new train 2 is not bad as a hole, but isolated and right on the road. This is of course due to the small area and the elimination of the old, very beautiful island green. Under the given conditions a decent place.

A fantastic parkland plant

Even after 5 visits there there for me here and that is the absolute exception only superlatives:

A superbly maintained plant, which in every respect level has to be "pretentious" no. Who likes Park landing sites, is experiencing a dream here. Varied plantings, infinitely more trees, but mostly the game is not in the way. Very fair growth must under the trees, so that one rarely loses balls.

Here is redesigned for dispute with the owner of the lake, the signature hole (Par 3 over the lake) in the fall and I press the space crossed that the conversion takes on the character of the place.

Players of all skill levels should here can have fun, as it almost always is an alternative to tiger line. If the score still suffering, you should just enjoy the view of nature and remember that golf is played for most of us just for fun...

The food is very good, staff friendly and (as the entire club) very hospitable. That you can not play at the weekend, is a shame, but I have a lot of understanding. The green fee of € 65.- is absolutely fair and you get a lot for your money.

In summary, I can only say: The place is for me one of the leading courses in Germany and is a must for any visitor to the north. come to a similar level within most forest villages, Am Sachsenwald, Falckenstein, Hittfeld and St. Dionysius in question.

Since Hamburg "tight in" is, and cultural aspects are not neglected. Thanks to the Club and operators for the beautiful days that we spent there. It will not be the last visit to this and in the next few years.

Nice game!
