Characteristics
Founded in 1964 the Golfclub Hamburg-Ahrensburg is one of the best known and most traditional golfclubs in the Hamburg region. Located slightly north of Hamburg it is just a short 25 km from the very center of Hamburg. The golf course boasts an impressive parkland atmosphere within the wonderful landscape of Schleswig Holstein.
Recreational golfers as well as top players will find an ambitious but always playable challenge at the golf course next to Bredenbeker Lake. Alongside the sport you will enjoy the beautiful nature and wonderful views during your time on the course.
The driving range and putting green are located right next to the club house. An additional area with three pitching and chipping greens combined with various practice bunkers is well placed on the course, just a couple of minutes to walk from the parking lot and clubhouse. Golfclub Hamburg-Ahrensburg is home to the Hamburger Golfakademie where you may book a training session with any of our three excellent golf pros who are equipped with excellent teaching facilities and professional technology such as Trackman.

Better than expected

I've played the course for the second time now. First before the renovation. Here I would agree with oldive's assessment. Now I found the course to be a beautiful parkland course with lots of old trees. However, the course seems quite narrow. Other holes are often visible, even though they are separated by trees. The path to the 13th, along the fence, takes some getting used to. The green speed was up to German standards. However, the condition was of a high standard. All of this at golfamore for €45 is really recommended.
PS: the 9 five star reviews in August have a very special taste.

The GCHA offers a sporty atmosphere, ambitious teams and a great coaching team.
The course is always in excellent condition. The greens are true to the course and it is a parkland course that does not immediately reveal its pitfalls and can therefore be described as quite challenging.
The training facilities - especially the short game area with 4 playable greens and bunker landscape underline the sporting orientation.
But even recreational players who simply enjoy the game can enjoy socializing in the ladies'/men's/seniors' afternoons.
The club terrace with a view of several greens and tees is another plus of this highly recommended golf club.

As a new member (since the beginning of 2023) of the GC Hamburg-Ahrensburg, I am thrilled by the warm welcome and the great community that I am able to experience here. The course is in excellent condition at any time of the year and offers exciting challenges for both beginners and experienced players. I find the well-kept fairways and the varied courses particularly impressive, which make every game a special experience.
The clubhouse exudes a friendly atmosphere and the team on site is always friendly and helpful. I am very happy to be part of this club and can only warmly recommend the GC Hamburg-Ahrensburg (which I also joined on recommendation) to any golf enthusiast who is looking for a first-class club in the Hamburg area. A golf club in a beautiful, scenic setting and very friendly members.
