I've played the course for the second time now. First before the renovation. Here I would agree with oldive's assessment. Now I found the course to be a beautiful parkland course with lots of old trees. However, the course seems quite narrow. Other holes are often visible, even though they are separated by trees. The path to the 13th, along the fence, takes some getting used to. The green speed was up to German standards. However, the condition was of a high standard. All of this at golfamore for €45 is really recommended.
PS: the 9 five star reviews in August have a very special taste.

The GCHA offers a sporty atmosphere, ambitious teams and a great coaching team.

The training facilities - especially the short game area with 4 playable greens and bunker landscape underline the sporting orientation.
But even recreational players who simply enjoy the game can enjoy socializing in the ladies'/men's/seniors' afternoons.

As a new member (since the beginning of 2023) of the GC Hamburg-Ahrensburg, I am thrilled by the warm welcome and the great community that I am able to experience here. The course is in excellent condition at any time of the year and offers exciting challenges for both beginners and experienced players. I find the well-kept fairways and the varied courses particularly impressive, which make every game a special experience.
The clubhouse exudes a friendly atmosphere and the team on site is always friendly and helpful. I am very happy to be part of this club and can only warmly recommend the GC Hamburg-Ahrensburg (which I also joined on recommendation) to any golf enthusiast who is looking for a first-class club in the Hamburg area. The parkland course is beautifully laid out. Old trees, complemented by numerous new plantings. The course is fair, but often requires a tactical approach, as water hazards and bunkers are always in play. The men's tee on hole 18 is particularly challenging. If you visit Hamburg, you should definitely play an 18-hole round at GC Hamburg-Ahrensburg.
