Great golf course, beautiful natural spectacle.

This is an older golf course north of Hamburg, with a clubhouse dating back to 1925. The welcome from Doris in the office was exceptionally friendly and professional. The fairways are varied and somewhat hilly. Some of the drive landing areas are quite narrow. The trees are mature, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Club life seems very vibrant; they're currently running a camp for the youngest golfers. Although the fairways run parallel to each other, not a single one is boring.
Clearly, no expense is spared on course maintenance; despite the high temperatures of recent weeks, all the fairways were green. The greens are fast, and divots are regularly reseeded. The course is well worth its €100 green fee.

It's a wonderfully quiet, beautiful parkland course with some elevation changes. At almost 6,000 meters (par 73!) and with so many trees, you should be able to play as straight as possible. While the driver is useful, especially on long par 5s, every mistake is punished here...
The condition of the course is very good, especially the greens are challenging and have some breaks that quickly lead to a three-putt.
The staff in the office and in the restaurant are extremely friendly, and you feel welcome. Why you need a doctor's certificate for an electric cart (it's a sports club...) is beyond me, but luckily I got one because a trolley started malfunctioning. It died after three laps, which is why the buggy was a good decision.
In the restaurant you can dine very well at reasonable prices in a stylish ambience and end the day in a pleasant way.
We were delighted to be guests here and fully understand that the members do not want any green fee players on the weekend.
If you're looking for a classy, well-maintained course in a quiet atmosphere and stylish dining for €100, this is the place for you. GC Walddörfer rightfully plays in the top league around Hamburg, along with Falkenstein, Ahrensburg, and Schloss Breitenburg.

A great place in a wonderfully wooded landscape - only in the back there are some more open parkland tracks. Already purely optically sensational, plus a heavenly peace!
Also a technical highlight! Quite tricky, the forest is mostly pretty close to the fairways. Lots of strategically well placed bunkers. Overall, a very interesting layout - especially the beautiful (and difficult) Par3s stand out. With almost 6,000m (from YELLOW) not really short either - so you should be long AND straight!
The greens are also "tricky". Mostly relatively large, moderately undulating, but difficult to read.
The condition is great - despite the wooded location and the advanced season (October!). The fairways are also generally very well maintained, but with a few loamy bald spots in the shady forest tracks. Even the tees are in good shape despite the forest location. The bunkers are equipped with very good, loose sand throughout!
Great praise to the greenkeepers (and the supporting robotic lawnmowers, who bustle back and forth on the three lanes in front of the clubhouse terrace)!
A cart is not absolutely necessary, the space can be negotiated on foot.
The only small drawback: the green fee is quite steep - but it's worth it! Better 90, - for such a place, than 70, - for the average meadows, which are called elsewhere.
Conclusion: "Walddörfer" does not need to hide from the "top dog Falkenstein"! Definitely play (again), even a longer detour is worthwhile for this place! Smooth 4 stars. (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 7 out of 10 points.)
