Characteristics
The club was founded in 1931 and achieved prominence in a very short time, technically if is a very difficult course with many natural hazards, among them three crossing creeks. The nearby mountain range protects the golfers from the the cold north wind, while the breeze from the sea is peasantly refreshing. The course demands precision and puts the skills of every players to the test. It is also very well-tended during the winter.

First of all the published rates are incorrect. The 45 Euro weekday rate does not start until 3PM, so fork out 60 Euros. When you book the tee time they don't tell you that the course becomes a par 67 during the week, with two temporary par 3's. You start on hole #2 and end on hole #1. The tee box for hole #2 is in the line of fire from the driving range. Then there is hole #18. You have to hit over the driving range, and unless your drive carries 275, your ball is in the driving range. There is a button that you push, which sounds an alarm on the range for the them to stop, while you proceed out on to the driving range to find and then hit your second shot. Needless to say we didn't play that hole. When I asked for a reduced fee at the end, they said no, but did offer a free cart for the next round. THERE WAS NO NEXT ROUND. The staff is friendly and the course is literally, right in town. The clubhouse is nice and the members were also friendly. If you want an adventure, It's great. If you want to play golf, go somewhere else.

The course has its pros and cons. It's generally a beautiful parkland course in good condition with several interesting holes. On a number of holes, you play over a large riverbed. Holes 2 and 18 are a curiosity, but not exactly a positive one. The driving range is quite disruptive there, especially since the players practicing don't seem to want to wait until you're out of harm's way. Hole 2 is somewhat manageable, as a long drive will get you out of harm's way almost immediately, but on hole 18 (par 3), you really have to hit the 180 meters directly onto the green, otherwise it's very difficult. The clubhouse is nice and the staff are friendly. The parking lot, despite being right in the city center, seems secure. The price was also reasonable for us in the off-season. As a 16-hole course, it would have gotten 4 stars from me, but for the full 18 holes, it only gets 3.

The Rapallo Golf & Tennis Club is located in the town and impresses with its time-honored ambiance. The course, lined with towering pine trees, was recently skillfully redesigned by Italian golf hero Constantino Rocca without altering the over 100-year-old layout. It's quite a special experience that the landing area of the driving range is also the fairway of hole 2—a truly unique experience!
Wonderful fairways and the ancient church on the course are sensational! After a wonderful round of parkland golf, you can swing from the center left of the driving range tee boxes onto the 18th green, 180 meters away. After the round, a real clubhouse awaits you with a card room, smoking room, bar, and small courtyard. The only course in Liguria east of Genoa is a must-play course for every Italian golfer!
During our visit, the green on hole 3 was being rebuilt. The course was in top shape!
