Characteristics
Situated at the bottom of the Schneeberg in the west of Aachen close to the Dutch border, the club's terrain is slightly undulating and features a population of old trees. The course consists of diversified holes partly providing a grand view of Aachen and a splendid hilly landscape.

..but one of the fun, not excessively long, the tracks meander through the park landscape in an appealing and calm way, completely free of the much-cited "highlights". The overall package is right and so in the best weather on the first day of June there is a feeling of well-being - in addition to flora and fauna also a credit to the greenkeepers. The friendly reception is also worth mentioning.
You have to accept small deductions for thin fairways and holey tee boxes - this type of grass would probably no longer be sown on golf courses today. Astonishing for such a traditional club is the run-of-the-mill menu in the restaurant, which is just as uninspired as the service.

Played on January 16,2020. The 18-hole course on the outskirts of Aachen is located on the Dutch border in absolute tranquility and nature. Especially from lanes 5 and 6 you have a nice view over the border to Holland. The view of the Aachen clinic nearby is also released from time to time. The older part of the complex is absolute parkland with many tall trees that have grown in. The newer courses are a little more open. Overall, apart from two slight increases, the terrain is rather flat and a cart is not necessary. Most of the fairways are relatively straight or have slight doglegs. There is little rough, but well-placed bunkers that require strategic play. There are few water hazards. The place is nice but without the really big highlights. The greens are almost all undulated and thus the challenge and the scorekiller on the round in Aachen. The members greeted everyone friendly and took me on the round as a single player. There are no start times. Playing on a sunny Thursday afternoon was easy to brisk. If you want, you can also start at 10 if free. Small drawback: The driving range is located a bit away from the clubhouse at the parking lots. At the first tee you can cross the lanes 17 and 18 if free, otherwise the way is a little further. You need a loaded ball card. The clubhouse made a good solid impression and the lady in the secretariat was very friendly. Unfortunately, there is a surcharge for the green fee or no discount of € 20 if you do not have a golden hologram on your ID. This is a shame and does not promote golf and at least ultimately does not invite me to come back. 80 € a week is a bit too much for the rather average space. Summer greens were stuck in my game, but the greens were punched (no information when I called before and before the start) and the fairways were uncut due to the season and sometimes very mushy. The discount could have been granted, despite the lack of a hologram. Conclusion: Basically okay, you can play but certainly not a must have and not 5 stars!
