Characteristics
The course was created in 1974 on a historic, mostly flat terrain with a "Schultenhof" (a kind of farm) that went on record for the first time in 1630. The fairways are lined by dense roughs and are partly accompanied by an old stock of trees, forming something like an alley. Because of exactingly integrated pools and bunkers, the course is varied and not to be underestimated.

Solid parkland golf in Recklinghausen

Played on 9/25/2020. The flat 18-hole course with an additional 4-hole short course is located not far from the A43 a little northwest of Recklinghausen in almost absolute peace and nature, mostly surrounded by fields. Only the federal highway 225 (along runway 16) and a few small planes from the nearby airfield can be heard every now and then. Otherwise, the complex impresses mainly with its ingrown parkland character with mostly tall trees and a lot of bushes. A few water hazards also come into play, for example, you have to carry a short stretch over a water directly at the first tee to reach the fairway and as a final highlight the green at 18 is an island green. Otherwise there are a few doglegs and always well-placed bunkers. I particularly remember a large bunker landscape in front of the green at 11. Also very nice is the 12 (PAR 3) where you should hit the green over a small gorge from the slightly elevated tee. There are also a few closer tees, for example at 13, where there is certainly a small task for higher HC. Overall, the condition was perfect. Lush green fairways, except for one or the other mole problem, especially on the 9th tees and greens were absolutely fine. If the members were to tweak their divits and pitch marks a little more, it would be almost perfect. A slightly longer path awaits you from the green of the 10 to the 11th tee, which partly leads along the fairway of the 13. Here it is best to simply trust the signs. There is also a short distance to cover from 11 to 12. The advice on the sign on green 12 not to leave your golf bag unattended (men's tee 13 is a bit behind) should obviously not be ignored and it makes you feel a little uncomfortable at the moment. The game on a Friday morning was steady but not rushed. As a single player, I could line up and play through without waiting. In principle there are no starting times, you start after a spiraling ball. As a guest, however, you should inquire about blocking times beforehand. Emails about this are answered quickly and in a friendly manner. The standard green fee of € 60 on weekdays and € 70 on weekends is appropriate. However, the surcharges of € 15 on weekdays and € 20 on weekends that do not promote golf are a bit too high for golfers without a hologram, so that you think twice about coming back. The green fee is paid by the nice lady in the secretariat with a small attached pro shop. The clubhouse with restaurant (not tested) makes a good solid impression, the sanitary facilities and changing rooms are neat and clean. If you don't expect the big highlights, I can safely recommend a round of golf in Recklinghausen.

Have played this very beautiful place on a Monday. The condition was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The mature trees, water hazards and many bunkers provide a place that allows virtually no room for boredom. All together an almost perfect day of golf.
