...in the top 10 Ireland...

...and in the Top 50 of Britain & Ireland, as well as in the Top 50 of the Links Courses List of Britain & Ireland...

...I don't really need to write more...

Between 1995 and 2005 we went on five Ireland-Dublin golf trips and tried to play a round here once. We counted the ball losses, not the scores - because writing the scores was impossible. The weather was really bad, the oil gear - thanks to the North Sea golfer, he organized this for our trips - had to be carried the whole round...

It was clear to all participants that this round had to be repeated in better conditions, but it took time - in 2018 and 2019 there was not enough time, the weather would have been fine...

Well, we're not that unhappy because we're benefiting from the work on the course on the front nine. Ebert & McKenzie created a master plan in 2016 and planned and supported this work in 2019 and 2020. Hole 3 was revised and holes 4.5, 8 and 9 were rebuilt. The old Bidrie book has had its day and clearly shows the changes.

This course doesn't have that many bunkers - almost humane - not 40!

It is unclear who made the first plans for this course, the local farmer did most of the work by hand to build a course!!!

It's great to play on such an old course in the very high dunes, it's one of the oldest courses in Ireland. The founders - the syndicate - are still known today. It is also known that you originally had to use the boat - until 1973 - to play a round here.

Today's hole 14 was the opening hole back then - a par 3!!!

For us this course is on the same level as Ballybunion Old, Portmarnock Old Rosapenna, Waterville and Royla Dublin, all old links courses.

Considered the No. 2 East Coast jewel...

It was a lot of fun, not everyone could shine with the scores.

The place is great

We played the course on 7/27/23. It was a wonderful experience. Excellent condition, but that's to be expected at €250 Greene. Service in the secretariat also great. Only the restaurant really disappointed us, so: play here, eat somewhere else!
