Characteristics
Stannum Golf, located in Gråbo near Gothenburg, offers a piece of Swedish golf history. Founded in 1972 and inaugurated by Sven Tumba, the 18-hole "Stora Banan" was designed by the renowned architect Frank Pennink. The course is distinct for its open "seaside character" despite being inland, featuring flat ridges and strategic water hazards that cut through the scenic agricultural landscape. It famously hosted Annika Sörenstam's first professional victory. In addition to the main course, the facility includes a 9-hole short course and extensive practice areas, making it a welcoming destination for all levels.
