Characteristics
Royal Birkdale, located on the golden links of Southport’s coast, is widely recognized as one of England’s finest championship courses. Founded in 1889 and granted Royal status in 1951, the club has hosted The Open Championship ten times. The course winds through towering sand dunes, offering a fair yet formidable test where hazards are clearly visible. A defining feature is the iconic Art Deco clubhouse, built in 1935 and resembling a ship sailing through the dunes. With excellent practice facilities and a bistro overlooking the 18th green, it offers a world-class golfing experience steeped in history.

Royal Birkdale is an absolute world class linkscourse! The 10x Open and 2x? Ryder Cup Course is a dune and design wonder. Long tracks and top greens await you on Birkdale. On a sunny February morning at 8Grad, the place was in a sensational state! To the winter fairy of Birkdale is no native summer fairy of a German top rank even approaching! However, there is no domestic meadow on Birdale ran!
