Characteristics
Located near Blackburn, Pleasington Golf Club is widely regarded as Lancashire’s premier heathland course. Established in 1891 and a 12-time Open Championship Qualifying venue, the layout offers a stern test amidst picturesque countryside. A significant renovation by architect Ken Moodie has recently enhanced the course, which provides panoramic views stretching to the Pennines and the Fylde coast. The terrain is uniquely bisected by a railway line, adding strategic depth to several holes, particularly the signature Par 5 7th, known as "The Mill." The experience concludes in the clubhouse, steeped in the legend of King James I and the "Sir Loin" steak, offering excellent dining in a setting that blends sporting tradition with a warm atmosphere.
