Characteristics

The brand new golf course in the Nordics (opened in September 2015) is located in the West-Estonia, Pärnu, just within 10 mins drive from Pärnu City Centre and numerous spas.

The 18-hole, par 72, first links course is designed by a Finnish architect Lassi Pekka Tilander and shaped by Mick McShane, who´s famous works include also Kingsbarns and legendary Castle Course in St.Andrews.

In our modern clubhouse there are located saunas, pro shop, lounge and restaurant EAGLE offering Nordic-Scottish flavours with a local twist. There is also plenty of seafood in the menu, as the chef is inspired by the diet of the course´s patron bird, the osprey. The result is nicely balanced modern menu offering an enjoyable interlude for any golf player or admirer.

This review is part of my travel blog from our vacation. Parnu Bay was our third golf stop on our roadtip. We arrived night before and had chance walk around the course and we catch a nice sunset. This place is my cup of coffee :D its stunning, love the big pine trees and clubhouse. Check in in the morning was very friendly and we were treated very well, once again I liked acceptance of Golfpiste card. We were alowed to play bit earlier so we started, course was nice and calm not many players there. Once again its pretty flat, so no problem to walk. Fairways are wide and soft, there is not much water or deep rought at this time of the year, but there is lot of waste areas. Greens are ubelivable, you really need to bring your A game. I love putting but I had problem to score, but its my fault. I would not con anything there, all is perfect. Actually only small con is that after game the restaurant was close because it was Monday. Signature holes? For me all par 3’s and 18th hole obviously. Training areas were nice as well, big drivin range and academy is awesome. Final refreshement in nice locker rooms and time to move to Niitvalja. I highly recommend, thank you for hospitality.

Actually 4.5 *

Well, I've definitely traveled a lot and played golf in many countries. But what I found here in Pärnau probably tops everything.

Location: 5*
Course Layout: 5*
Place Condition: 5*
Clubhouse Design: 5*+
Price: 5*++
Restaurant/Bar: 3.5* Why? Because it's unacceptable that you want to order a sandwich at 12:30 p.m. and they tell you they don't have it, that it's sold out, and the new one hasn't arrived yet. No, that's not possible.

Nevertheless, I will definitely come back if I am in the area.

Beautiful and fair

This spacious course is nestled between the Baltic Sea, pine trees, and heathland. A very friendly welcome, a chic yet functional clubhouse, and showers with a sauna. We (handicap 19 and 23) were only able to play holes 1-9.
The fairways are actually quite wide, punctuated by countless playable bunkers. The greens are moderately fast but true, with distinct undulations.
Conclusion: a real treat!
