Founded in 1966, the layout is often described as a "hidden gem" of the Midlands. The course demands immediate focus, with Tony Jacklin noting that the opening three holes are arguably the toughest in the region. Extensive renovations have resulted in USGA-specification greens for year-round playability, while the modern clubhouse, opened in 2006, provides a welcoming atmosphere for dining and relaxation.
