Characteristics
Each hole has a special design and a particular name that already hints at what to expect. For instance, there is hole 5, "Tidal Pool", where you will find either water - or not. Number 7, "Mangrove", suggest that you will hardly find a lost ball in the mangrove jungle. "Cat and Mouse" indicates the volcano that dominates the island and is the background for the 12 hole, a 418 m long par 4.
With such a golf course, presenting itself under these tropical conditions from the start in the best of lights, it is not surprising that it does not lack, either, in other facilities belonging to a golf course. Only one word can describe the club house at the northern end of the course,which includes a lounge, restaurant and lockers: fantastic. The training facilities - driving range, pitching and putting area, target greens - are also first-class.

This place can only be reached by boat.
Then you'll encounter a course full of challenges. Narrow fairways, blind holes, ups and downs, small greens. The 18th hole is particularly unusual, offering a choice of two widely separated greens. Bring plenty of balls if it's windy (which is normal). The real enjoyment probably only comes after playing it several times. But it's an experience nonetheless.

This course is among the best I've ever played. It's quite tricky and requires strategic play. Especially when playing the yellow, white, and black tees, you're faced with a different course each time, as the fairways require a different approach from each tee. Using the driver is only possible on a few holes from the yellow tees. The service is excellent, the course is in impeccable condition, and the greens, while not super fast, are still challenging. Furthermore, the shuttle service to and from the Shangri-La Hotel (the golf course can only be accessed from there or via the public jetties) is a special highlight.
