Characteristics
Hockley Golf Club, established in 1914 near Winchester, sits atop the chalk downland of the South Downs National Park. Redesigned by James Braid in 1920, the course is celebrated for its exceptional drainage, ensuring year-round playability even in winter. The layout ascends a valley before leveling out on a plateau, offering sweeping views that stretch towards the Isle of Wight. While the initial climb is a challenge, the remainder of the course is pleasantly walkable. Facilities include a driving range and a clubhouse serving as a social hub.
