The 9-hole course with clubhouse and training areas is situated in the town Gelsenkirchen in the interior of Germany's largest galopp racecourse. Worth mentioning is the driving range that has over 21 heated boxes with target golf and was added directly to the clubhouse. The flood light system makes training possible till 9 pm even in the autumn and winter months.

The course especially the fairways and tees are in unbelievably bad condition. Surely owed to the rain-poor summer, but better space maintenance is possible. Also off the tracks it does not look different. The greens are OK, but the entire space, including layout and location convey no enthusiasm or the desire to repeat. As already described, it is a place that was built in a former gallop race track. The height differences are therefore small. But there is quite a tree and a pond.
The tracks are pleasantly wide and fair to play despite the circumstances. In my two previous laps, the course was in good shape and the greens were consistently playable without any major mistakes. So I did not experience the place in as bad a state as it is in some reviews to read. I enjoy playing a round there.
I find the training facilities with driving ranch, putting greens and chipping areas very good and extensive.
The service was also everything OK and in the restaurant I was friendlyly served, although I only a little drunk and therefore to the food nothing to say.
There are certainly higher quality golf courses, but that also makes itself felt in the prices. Therefore, I consider the facility for a nice alternative to play a pleasant round.

Played on 12.5.2017. The flat 9-hole course (PAR 35) is located in the center of Gelsenkirchen within a former equestrian track. One also plays over again or again over some natural jumping obstacles, which were thought probably earlier for the horses. There is something special to play here as well, past the heavy industry, which you can see and hear in the background and always with a view of the Hercules statue of the Nordsternpark or past the new settlement along the ninth lane. Otherwise, it is a full-fledged 9-hole course. Partially even with two tee-off variants when playing 18-holes. There are water hazards and ever-growing vegetation where you can also lose your balls if you do not stay on the track. Strategy is certainly a key to success here and the driver does not always have to be the best choice of tee-off. The condition was good. The Greens fast and faithful. In the clubhouse at the counter I was greeted as a guest friendly and served. Rather uncomplicated I could play on a sunny Friday night immediately. For 25 € and thankful and golfing promising way without surcharge for players without "r" in the identification absolutely appropriate. There is a generous exercise area with driving range and even a short place on the premises. If you need balls or a glove, you can pull it at an automat! I found the relaxed atmosphere refreshing and can recommend the round, if you no Nobelwiese, here after dinner or as a stopover in the middle of the Ruhr area.
