Just 10 minutes from the city-center you can find the only golfcourse on the city of Düsseldorf. Embedded in the hilly landscape and surrounded by forest, they offer long lengths, hanging fairways, demanding island greens and artificial lakes that are connected with each other through several water courses and water falls.

We played the nine holes within the racecourse as a quick after-work round after work. After a friendly welcome in the pro shop, a somewhat long walk from the parking lot, and a bucket of balls, we headed straight to the round. (No changing room?) The course is interestingly laid out within the boundaries of the racecourse; the hedges/jumping obstacles are built into the fairway, and the occasional water hazard juts out in front of the green, providing a challenge.
The path to the next tee was not always marked by arrows, so if you were unfamiliar with the area you had to look at the tee board to see where to go after the green.
During the first play, some holes were a bit difficult to assess, but for the most part, it was easy to see where to go. The fairways were well-maintained, but the greens were unfortunately a bit pockmarked. Outside the fairways, the moles had gone wild in places.
A nice round at a very fair price, we will certainly come back to play the complete 18 holes

Ours is really having fun here! Everyone is always warm and courteous.
The course is in very, very good condition and the greens have become lightning fast over the course of the year. The place is relatively tight on the first nine and sometimes requires very precise play. The second nine are hilly and very varied.

Played on 11/11/2020 (what else should you do if carnival "fails"). The 18-hole course with a large driving range (€ 4 for 40 balls) is located in absolute tranquility on the eastern outskirts of Düsseldorf behind the Düsseldorf Wildlife Park and can be reached quickly via the A3 from the Ruhr area or from Cologne. From the motorway exit, where the Hubbelrath and Kosaido golf clubs are also located, drive about 10 km in the direction of Düsseldorf to the racecourse in the Grafenberg district. The first flat 9 holes (PAR 33) are then also within the racecourse. The second 9 (PAR 37) are outside the racetrack in hilly terrain (carts not required for normal sporty golfers). When traveling to the facility, you should take into account that it is another 10 minutes' walk from the parking lot to the secretariat / pro shop, which is located in the middle of the driving range. There is also the 1st tee. At the 10th tee you walk a little way out of the racetrack. The first 9 are skilfully integrated into the area of the racecourse and even one or the other water hazard or dense bush comes into play. The one PAR 5 also has a claim with 479 meters, a large tree in the middle and water in front of the green. On the back 9 it continues with track 10 equally demanding. You can now expect dense rough, doglegs, water hazards, slopes, blind strokes and well-placed bunkers. It does not get boring! The condition of the fairways was a bit mixed. The place was soft and muddy due to the wetness. The floor stuck inches thick under the shoes and the current ban on trolleys without protectors makes sense. So unfortunately there were clumps of clay everywhere on the greens. The greenkeepers were about to blow it away, but couldn't really keep up. Otherwise the greens weren't the fastest but okay. The game is always busy here, as it was today, on a dry November Wednesday afternoon. Due to the corona, it was only possible to play in two-way flight, all start times were booked out, you should reserve one at least one week in advance. Guests can also view the free tee times via the homepage, but cannot book them. The standard green fee is adjusted to the Düsseldorf price level and from my point of view currently € 70 on weekdays and € 80 on weekends, € 10 too high. You can save 10 € if you book the sundowner tariff, which now applies in winter from 12 noon, for example. A surcharge for golfers without a hologram is not charged in a thankful way that promotes golf. The staff in the fairly simple pro shop was friendly, as were most of the members I met. Overall, the atmosphere is rather relaxed. There is no real clubhouse. There are simple toilets at the range, I didn't see any changing rooms. The restaurant (not tested / currently closed) is located directly on the parking lot outside the racecourse. It is always extraordinary to play golf within horse races, including here, so I can recommend the round as a special experience. But you should make sure that there is no racing or training day for the horses and that the first 9 cannot be played temporarily (updated daily on the homepage).
