Decent space with good training opportunities and room for improvement
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 21, 2020
First of all, if you know what it looked like at that place 5-6 years ago, you can see that something has been created there that doesn't need to hide. For about 2 years we can now speak of a full 9-hole course plus a 6-hole short course. We played there in August.
The reception - polite, competent, tidy.
The gastro afterwards - simple, good quality, cozy.
The training area - spacious, well-kept, but completely overcrowded on a Friday afternoon.
Now to the most important thing, the square:
9 well-tended fairways, which lack a bit of variety and challenge. Only lanes 2 (narrow landing zone) and 5 (well-defended green) require tactical considerations. Rough is almost completely out of the game, unless you twist the blow abnormally. The bunkers are well maintained and filled with enough sand, the greens a little soft and slow, and littered with pitch marks. Perhaps one should think about giving out pitch forks as starting gifts to the members instead of balls or Maxlrainer beer ... ;-).
However, 3 things urgently need to be improved:
Game speed - more than 2 hours are unacceptable for this course with short distances and almost no blind strokes and slopes. There was no marshal to be found.
Meaningful tee boards and signs are missing (luckily we had a member with us who knew the place) and the area between green 6 and tee 2 is an absolute security risk, as it is difficult to see. We almost got socketed away on Green 6. A protective net should urgently be considered here, especially since tee-offs from 6 that are too long can also hit lane 2. There are just a lot of beginners (please don't get me wrong, that's a good thing - everyone is a beginner in their life and this facility is a real added value for the promotion of golf) who naturally cannot assess their strokes very well.
Definitely recommended for the 9-hole after-work round, but not for a whole day of golf, as there is no price model for an 18-hole or even daily green fee. For almost 80 euros on a Sunday, there are much better alternatives in the Munich area.
Conclusion:
3 stars with potential for 4 if a few things can be improved.
