Characteristics
The golf club in Soufflenhein is situated on the French side of the Upper Rhine close to Baden-Baden and Strasbourg. It is very renown because its 18-hole course was designed by Bernhard Langer and Kurt Rossknecht. The holes, which demand both the courage and the skill of the golfer, were integrated beautifully into the idyllic meadowy countryside that is surrounded by forest. On top of that the course has 18 marvellous lakes!

As someone who is directly associated with one of the most recognizable golf personalities of all time and one who regularly plays the finest golf courses on Earth. Soufflenheim GC is one of, in my opinion the finest golf adventures that has breathtakingly beautiful fairways, a world class restaurant, training facilities that match the best courses and a golf challenge that caters to every golfer no matter how high or low the handicap. I announced my visit to the Soufflenheim golf course in advance by email and reserved a tee time. The organization worked wonderfully – very friendly and uncomplicated.
The golf cart was in perfect condition, even if it looked a bit dated and unfortunately didn't have a GPS. The course itself, however, was in excellent condition: super-soft, perfectly manicured fairways, extremely fast, and perfect greens. You immediately notice the professional touch: precision is required on this course.
The course is challenging overall, with several strategically placed water hazards coming into play. For long hitters like me with the appropriate length, the course is a real pleasure, as it presents many great opportunities.
The beavers you see everywhere near water, sunning themselves or feeding in the grass, are also great. On the other hand, the droppings left behind by wild geese almost everywhere on the fairways and even the greens are truly disgusting.
After your round, you'll receive very attentive and friendly service in the clubhouse. The restaurant is also solid. I had the Cordon Bleu with Munster cheese, which I highly recommend.
There's also ample parking, which makes the start a pleasantly relaxed experience. One small drawback, in my opinion, is the practice area: It could be more beautifully designed and improved overall.
Conclusion: A truly outstanding course that challenges athletes and inspires players – I would love to come back.

The course is truly beautiful, and we come here every year to play. However, the wild geese have become a nuisance. The fairways are so completely messed up that it's no longer a pleasure to play here. We won't be back unless something changes. It's a real shame for such a beautiful course.
