Choutrana II, TN-2036 Soukra, Tunisia

Characteristics

Superb 6000 yard parkland - type 18 – hole golf course, just eight minutes from Tunis – Carthage airport. It was built in 1927 and has put Tunis on the map as a golf destination. Its fairways meander amongst magnificant 100 – year old eucalyptus trees with also pines, cypress and olives providing shade in the summer and exciting colour through the rest of the year.

Some holes run alongside gardens in which orange, mandarin and lemon trees are growing. It is a player friendly course in good condition and greens that run straight and true. It is a challenging course – a rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Condition

I played the course yesterday. The condition of the fairways, greens and tees was excellent for Tunisian standards. Otherwise, I completely agreed with the previous reviewer's description of the course.

For fast game

It is a relatively short space, without par 5 holes. The condition is rather below average. For someone who is used exclusively German courts, the place is a disappointment.
Nevertheless, for the plays daily, weekend shortly before the ladies get up at home, wishing to play a round, the place is always sufficient.
The course requires an exact match to achieve a good result, because the fairways are narrow and often one quickly ends up on the opposite carriageway due to the narrowness of the place. Mature trees with magnificent eucalyptus trees marks the course.
