Schloss Klingenburg is situated in the Mindel Valley between the towns of Augsburg and Günzburg.
Founded in 1980, this diamond under Golfcourses is a must for all knowledgeable golfers. Imagine thousands of old magnificent trees, protected water and conservation areas, an extensive array of natural flowers and wildlife and you have found Schloss Klingenburg .
The course itself is testing but fair and fun for any golfer regardless of handicap. Whatever the time of year, the course is always well presented and to be found in top condition.

Beautiful course

We played at Klingenburg golf for the first time on April 17,2026, and it was a wonderful experience. The course is quite challenging, but also has its tranquil moments. Eight holes have ups and downs, while ten are flat. All of this is set in a very well-maintained environment with excellent signage and attractive new benches at each tee.
We received a very warm welcome. The green fee, with the Leisure Break option, was naturally very fair. The practice facilities are more than adequate. Hole 1 is truly memorable, as is hole 4 (for me personally – birdie!), and of course, hole 13, where the first tee shot almost inevitably landed in the water. But the final holes, 17 and 18, are also absolutely remarkable and not something you find everywhere. The post-round meal fit seamlessly into the overall experience. It was a pleasure and an honor for us to have played here today.

Already on track 1 you know that this place is special. A nice par 4 past a tree, it goes down and up.. Lane 2 offers a wonderful view of the Kammeltal, where you should probably drop your tee shot. The legendary Bermuda Triangle with what I consider to be the most beautiful "half-island green" that you always have to try. The gastronomy with the small half-time hut, with some self-service is fantastically beautiful and the food is very good. All treat guests as welcome and very friendly. Always a must when I'm in the area. Greens are challenging and well maintained. Thank you for the nice laps I was allowed to play there.

Klingenburg is a really beautiful and varied place.
The salient aspects are the very varied terrain with some height differences that result in interesting tracks. However, the implementation at Bahn1 was not really successful in my opinion. There are also a lot of water hazards (unfortunately not all of them are pegged, which is very problematic in tournaments) that represent quite demanding forced carries. The condition was excellent.
On the other hand, the course could do with more strategic lanes, most of which is pure penal design. The green complexes could also be designed more interestingly, but you will hardly find that in any Harradine design. Unfortunately, the soil is soft and drains very poorly. After ten minutes of rain, green 1 was already very wet, after an hour some holes were completely full.
Overall, I would see Klingenburg among the top 3 in Bavaria and recommend the place at any time. Unfortunately, the beautiful castle does not belong to the club and is not accessible.
