Visited the course again after a few years. You now play as if the course belonged to you alone; very quiet in comparison. Despite ideal golfing weather, there were virtually no players in sight on the 18 holes on several different days. So if you need a free starting spot, you're sure to find one here.
The restaurant is equally isolated. (Afghan; the over-seasoned cuisine, in our opinion, isn't to everyone's taste. ... Oh well.) The course itself is located in a charming area: Franconian wine country. However, the fairways are so long and lacking in charm and no real challenge, that it's probably better to go hiking in this beautiful region (if you're looking for peace and quiet).
The clubhouse used to look much more well-maintained, especially the restrooms. Perhaps this club's best days are behind it.
Given the significant deterioration, with a lot of goodwill (for the beautiful location), two more stars.

Played on 8/8/24. Took advantage of two for one. Nice, warm Middle Franconian welcome. Easy to play. Warm hospitality. Credit cards welcome. Absolutely good value for money. Would happily come back a second time.

Played in 04/24 on the way to southern Bavaria/Austria. Well-maintained course, wide fairways, fairly flat and easy to manage on foot. Not very exciting, a little too easy for me personally. Highlights such as doglegs and water hazards are unfortunately in short supply.
Friendly members and reception in the golf office. Afghan food is ok.
We might play again sometime.
