Situated in the valley of the Reichenbach, the 18-hole course of the Golfclub Hohenstaufen provides numerous beautiful panoramic views of the Swabian Alb and the foothills of the Alb between the Fils and Lauter valleys. The very undulating course featuring fairways narrowed by woodlands and the Reichenbach and greens well-protected by bunkers, water ditches, and semi-roughs is a true challenge for golfers.

A highlight

The course is integrated into a beautiful park landscape with old trees. In terms of landscape, for me it is the most beautiful place in the greater Stuttgart area, if Donzdorf is still part of the greater Stuttgart area.
Despite a long dry period, the place was in good condition, which surprised me. The greens were aerated and sanded, but we were told that beforehand and taken into account in the green fee.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff in the secretariat was striking, as was the friendliness of the members. As strangers we were always greeted in a friendly manner.
Many other golf clubs (leading golf clubs) in the Stuttgart area can take an example.
The place is demanding and challenging with some slopes, which reminded me of places in the Allgäu. Since the GC Hohenstaufen can keep up with the best courses.
I'm already looking forward to the next round of golf at this facility.

Two days ago we had the opportunity to play this outstandingly beautiful and well-kept course in the best weather.
First of all: In order to be able to enjoy this wonderful place, an e-trolley or a cart are MANDATORY!
It is a mountain site.
You have to keep that in mind.
Old stock of trees and, in my opinion, very wide fairways.
I'm used to tighter lanes, so I finally enjoyed the driver again!
A constant up and down, as well as frequent inclines should pose one or the other challenge even for good golfers.
The partly short par 4 (228m, 225m) are a challenge due to the topography.
My favorite holes were the 5, the 10 and the 15 (par 3 down a pond), but that's subjective.
All in all, a very nice place, which, however, sometimes has to offer very long distances between the holes.
Gastronomy was unfortunately closed (Monday)
Very friendly staff in the secretariat and in the pro shop.

Played on our golf trip with 36 players in very nice weather on 27.8.2018. Total space was in good condition, because you could also give 4 stars. The layout of the place is not so great. For first-time players, there is a fair overview on many fairways, for example, when overhead greens have to be played blind. It often goes through narrow fairways through the forest and violently uphill, downhill. If you play here more often certainly quite varied, for most of us rather no fun. In addition, you have to travel some long connecting routes, and this in the approach lane of fairways... here shows that the place in the actually beautiful landscape was 'pressed' ...
