Wishaw Golf Club, established in 1898, presents a classic parkland challenge in North Lanarkshire. The current course, designed by the legendary James Braid, rewards precision over power with its mature, tree-lined fairways. Golfers enjoy spectacular views stretching towards the Campsie Fells and Loch Lomond. While not excessively long at around 6,000 yards, the layout demands strategic play. A welcoming clubhouse with a restaurant and beer garden completes the traditional Scottish golf experience.

Cold welcome

Called in on spec to see the clubhouse and a quick look at the course, the guy in the pro shop, not sure if the pro or not, was quite dour.
When asked the way to the bar we got 1 grunt and a finger pointing the way, on leaving we said cheerio that gained 2 grunts.
Never mind maybe he'll get a refund from the charm school.
