Viipurin Golf in Lappeenranta offers a unique golfing experience on the shores of Lake Saimaa. The facility features two distinct courses. The 18-hole Etelä-Saimaa course, located on the scenic Tuosa island, is known for its stunning lake views and rolling terrain. Designed by Peter Fjällman, it incorporates historical Salpa Line fortifications into its layout. Closer to the city center, the 9-hole Kahilanniemi parkland course offers a special "water range." The club provides excellent amenities, including a restaurant and traditional saunas.

The VG-restaurant offers diverse lunch and dinner options amidst beautiful natural scenery. It features a bright dining hall, a cozy Kilta-Terrace, and the Norppa-cabinet. This place is worth it

Due to a tournament, we couldn't play on Saturday as planned, but we were able to get a tee time on Friday – thank goodness. This course is fascinating. It's designed for a sporty approach and, with its many doglegs, isn't the easiest to play. You should know your club lengths well.
The whole package is also perfect: a clubhouse with lunch, driving range, and pitch-putting facilities, all perfectly available.
Definitely play. But: the Finnish summer is short, and therefore many tournaments take place on the weekends, so it's better to plan during the week. Reserving tee times is also a real challenge, especially with Finnish-language websites and long winters when emails are unlikely to be read.
In general, however, the following applies to Finnish courses: you can go there even without a tee time and it will work (except on weekends, perhaps).
