Modern golf course between Bonn and Cologne

We played the course at the end of September 2025 and found it in good condition. Only the greens still showed some signs of aeration.
The facility was accurately described by DGP in our opinion. As a guest, detailed coordination with the secretariat in advance is recommended, as the latter only opens at 12:00 PM and almost everything is done digitally via card or app: from the barrier in the parking lot to the ball machine, the toilets on the pitch, etc.
We found the penalty areas mentioned elsewhere to be very useful, as they allow for a smooth flow of play and eliminate the need for tedious ball hunting. We also see the lack of out-of-bounds areas as more of an advantage than a disadvantage.
We were impressed by the modern layout, which boasted well-placed fairway bunkers and well-defended greens with undulations and bunkers. A good angle on the fairway often makes it easier to hit the green. Strategy and a good short game are especially important here. We also liked the fact that almost every hole is enclosed by dense trees, so even when the course is full, you hardly notice other players. However, remarkably well-frequented public paths run through the course and often provide a distraction.
The positive overall impression is rounded off by the truly impressive US-style clubhouse, a touch of Augusta. Attentive service and delicious food complete the experience.
We found all the staff and several members to be exceptionally friendly and can recommend a visit at any time.

Overall, the system is quite boring to play. Apart from the length and the flags, which are mostly placed on the edge, there are no challenges whatsoever. Anyone who seeks exclusion will do so in vain. All lanes have red markings on the edge, i.e. they are marked as penalty areas. There was probably a bit too much of a good thing. The tees are mostly uneven and plowed. The greens look good, but are so slow that you think you are still on the fairway. You can't expect service. The clubhouse doesn't open until 12 p.m. Until then you have to make do with booking machines or bring food and coffee with you from home. However, it's even easier if you drive 2 minutes further to GC Clostermann. You can still talk to nice people at the counter from 8 a.m. onwards.
